While Daly was a monster I think the episode does say something about each staff members character. The office gossip turned out to be the most compassionate. The long time intern stepped up in a clutch situation. The jerk user of a CEO sacrificed himself so the rest could have a chance. The cold receptionist was pretty personable. The most similar to his counterpart was Dudani who was there for something minor. The fake office setting enabled treating Daly like a misfit while the digital world that allowed him to be a God also made his coworkers into great people who could pull together. The problem for Daly is he's probably accepted the position he's in and doesn't consider if he was as involved in life as he was the game things would improve.
I don't think it was bad code, I think Daly wanted to punish them. It wouldn't be a punishment if the simulations weren't aware of their transgressions.
Bottom line… Don’t be a douche to people…

I think you're supposed to be conflicted at the end of this episode. I struggle with confidence in myself perhpas not on Dalys level but I could still recognize some of the things I'm doing in him. I was also very fast at supporting clone Nanette and her cewmates, but afterwards I felt a little bad dor Daly. I Agree some of his actions were extemely curel, but he was being cruel to code so does it really matter? I don't think he deserved to die.
Yay! So excited that we’re back with a new season. I loved this episode. It was so unique for Black Mirror. And I loved the black actress from Nosedive, also in this episode.
Ok her's a question. Did Daly actually do anything wring. He tortured simulations, not real people. Isn't it better to live out dark impulse's virtually instead of kidnapping and torturing real people? It's clearly not mentally healthy, but isn't it the lesser of 2 evils?
They were real people, he deserved death.

Daly was a complete bastard. You don't hold sentient minds against their will and torture them without the possibility of release. Him dying is the best he could hope for.
Daly was definitely in the moral wrong however the appropriate punishment (imho) was years in prison not effectively being sentenced to death.
I miss the panel from last season cause I feel like the new panelists haven't watched seasons 1-3 yet, still great job tho
Robert Daly, knowing that his creations could think and feel, brought a child in and threw him out the airlock and made the child's father watch him die. Daly can burn in hell for that alone.
this episode had me super conflicted. i will agree that robert did extremely horrible and inhumane things to the other members of his crew and deserved to get his comeuppance, however, at the same time, they werent actually real people. he didnt actually harm the real individuals the crew was based off. they even said that they dont feel pain. dont get me wrong he did awful stuff and by the end i was all for his demise but still im kinda conflicted about it
I believe he was giving them their minds on purpose so that he could torture them even more bc they got stuck there for like forever they felt everything and knew everything that must have been such a hell .. and I think that people who tried to escape needed to follow his rules other wise would be turned to a monster..
It's just the question do u believe that a virtual version of u who can feel everything think for itself knows it's past so your past do u believe it's kinda human and deserves a human treatment or do u believe they are not so u can so everything u want with them because they are just clones … it's kinda a westworld vibe .. and daily deserved it ..
he totally deserved to die. especially by a torture of his own design, call it poetic justice. he wasnt just a dick he was straight evil.
those ppl were as real as the ones on the outside they hav all the same memories and personality. they experience real pain, real fear, anger, joy, sorrow, relief, etc. exept now they cant die.
Ninette was going to continuously gasp for air forever suffocating unless Rob stopped it. 2 ppl are now in perpetual agony as deformed aliens. and he shot that guys son into space and made him watch!
TL;DR Fuck him, he deserved it
Even if I give Daly the benefit of the doubt and say it was bad coding that allowed them to be self-aware. At that point I’m guessing any person with a sliver of empathy would stop what they where doing, bc it’s essentially psychological torture. He didn’t so I don’t feel bad
this episode was also funnier than i was expecting. the smooth crotch smacking was hilarious
Fake Tommy was just as real as the other ppl, that little boy felt all of that. Robert deserves what he got
