Celebrities are just like us. They put on their pants one leg at a time, they’re big Game of Thrones fans, and they can buy and sell us three times over before we even knew what happened. Same.

Case in point: according to Variety, Brad Pitt recently attended a charity gala to raise money for disaster relief in Haiti, and bid a huge sum of money for the privilege of watching an episode of Game of Thrones with star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen). The bidding opened at $20,000 but quickly escalated, because who doesn’t want to watch Game of Thrones with the Mother of Dragons? Pitt was so excited for the chance that he out bid himself, raising his offer from $80,000 to $90,000 without any prompting. Kit Harington was also in attendance (both he and Clarke were in the area ahead of their appearance at the Golden Globes), and after he offered to sit in on the viewing, Pitt raised his bid to $120,000.

And then someone outbid him. Watch the highlights below, featuring a very enthusiastic and Game of Thrones-savvy auctioneer:

The real question is: If you’ve got Brad Pitt money, how do you lose the auction? Would you rather have another Mercedes or watch Game of Thrones with its two most famous stars? Then again, many other heavy hitters were there, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.

Anyway, who was the winning mystery bidder? Reddit has an idea:

Of course.

Whoever made the bid, the money went to the J/P Haitian Relief Organization. Click here if you’d like to donate or learn more their efforts.
