Our Humble Beginnings: The Den of Nerds started as the personal YouTube channel of our founder, Joshua Lucas. Josh is a comic book writer and editor, but more importantly, he’s a HUGE Nerd. He started making videos on June 15th 2016. The goal back then was to just talk about Nerdy things, but quickly Josh found that his interests had changed. Soon after, he formed a new vision for what The Den of Nerds could and should be.

The Changing State of Media: Media Is going through the most massive shift in the past hundred years. Everything is going digital, direct to market, and mobile. The best and worst part of this is that there are no more gatekeepers. Anyone and everyone can put their content out there and reach a mass audience. However, the new gatekeeper is the algorithm. In order to get stuff in front of people, certain practices are done which hurt quality. In this world, where established networks are now fighting for views against thousands of YouTube personalities and bloggers, ALL of these people have forgotten the most important part of this equation. That is the value for the end consumer. That is something we will NEVER do. How will we figure out how to add value to our audience? It’s simple; we’ll ACTUALLY interact with them and we’ll actually CARE.

Our Vision: We want to become the ESPN of Nerdy things, but obviously with some changes. We imagine a place and time where we have high quality and personalized content put out every day that serves Nerds around the world. We want to be hyper interactive with our viewers on Social Media and in person. Simply put, we exist to expand the fun in YOUR life! Becoming a major player in reporting, programming, and covering Nerdy things is how we plan to do that!

  1. Don't buy the X men, the mutants honestly have no place in the mainstream marvel universe. It never made sense anyway. Dr Doom or Galactus can be great main villains for the mcu after thanos so buy the fantastic four

  2. Personally I think this is terrible news.

Fox has been knocking out the park as of late with their dark films lately.
Logan, deadpool and now a horror movie that's coming out. I don't want to see the "Friends" version of X-men. Disney(disease)can have fantastic 4 but leave the X-Men at Fox. They're at home.

  3. Talks have broken down and that is a great thing.  These conglomerates are getting too big and need to be stopped by Capitol Hill.  Disney itself needs to be broken up and sold off until its back to the size it was after Walt died (get rid of Marvel, give Star Wars back to George, dump ESPN, etc.).  Also I don't want any more Marvel or any more superhero movies ever again.   I also want to see Star Wars come to a permanent end like it was supposed to after Revenge of the Sith.  I'd rather watch cowboys/indian and big budget musicals.

  4. I'M in my 40s. if this deal gets done soon, and we see the Silver Surfer make an appearance in the end credits scenes of Guardians of the galaxy vol 3 warning of the COMING of Galactus, i Will completely Geek the HELL out of my mind. GET IT DONE!

  5. Awesome video! This is X-citing news! We can finally have a Fantastic Four and X-Men movies done right! Then we can see Hulk vs. Thing, Spider-Man team with Human Torch, Mr. Fantastic and Prof X join Tony Stark to form the Illuminati, Rogue absorbs Captain Marvel's powers, a right actor to play Wolverine in full costume, AVX, House of M, etc!

  6. Yeah mark my words this won't happen and this will never ever happen Rupert Murdoch owns it he owns Fox all of fox he owns a lot of news outlets in the United States and in the UK and he has been trying to expand so if he's trying to expand he's not going to be selling stuff off and he would never sell office entertainment end. And he has Sons his children that are already starting to take over Fox will never sell any of their properties especially their entertainment side not the movies and not their news outlets

  7. This will never happen Rupert Murdoch owns that owns 20th Century Fox and he will never sell one of those products that are so extremely profitable and always will be this is fake news will never happen ever

  8. I think it's awesome news. Fox has had their run with X-Men and have done the best they can to fix the timeline errors they creates. But they've about hit the ceiling for what they can do. Give Marvel a shot. Their movie division has a proven track record of success. We might finally get a billion dollar X-Men movie. I'm excited to say the least. Marvel Studios will be able to do the darker and more risque stuff that Disney can't if they keep Fox it's separate thing. An Avengers/X-Men team up would be AMAZING!
