AutoNews- Saturday Night Live has announced the three new cast members who will be joining the iconic just show just days before the premiere of its 43rd season.Heidi Gardner, Luke Null and Chris Redd will be making their way to the Big Apple after making their way through the notoriously difficult casting process for the show, headed up by creator and head producer Lorne Michaels.The trio will be taking the place of the show’s three departing members: Bobby Moynihan, Sasheer Zamata and Vanessa Bayer.Bayer was nominated for an Emmy in her last season.Gardner and Redd have already had a fair deal of success in the entertainment industry prior to being cast on the program.Gardner is the voice of Cooch in the Crackle series ‘SuperMansion’ and will soon be seen in the Melissa McCarthy film ‘Life of the Party.’Redd was in the 2016 film ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’ and can be seen in the Netflix series ‘Disjointed.’Null meanwhile is one of the more exciting additions to the cast in some time as he was working at a Chicago real estate firm prior to his casting, while also doing work with the improvisation group iO Chicago.He responded to the news of his casting being released on Tuesday by tweeting: ‘Oh neat. I am on SNL now. lol.’There will also be seven new writers joining the fray this year at Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center.Sam Jay, Gary Richardson, Erik Marino, Andrew Dismukes, Steven Castillo, Claire Friedman and Nimesh Patel will be joining the staff headed up by Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider.The show is coming off one of its most watched seasons ever which earned it nine Emmy awards, more than any other show.Baldwin will be back again this season despite his claims that he was prepared to hang up the orange wig, appearing as President Donald trump in the season opener hosted by Ryan Goslign with musical guest Jay Z.
