Game Of Thrones‘ Gwendoline Christie has hinted at a potential huge romance for her character Brienne of Tarth during the next season of the show.
Twin Peaks season 3 not on the cards yet as creators are ‘still processing’ The Return
Season seven has just wrapped (we didn’t think it was heritage GoT), but fans are already relying on the show’s actors to drop the odd spoiler or two about season eight.
Fans have enjoyed watching Brienne and Tormund Giantsbane’s flourishing romance on screen; Tormund declared his love for her at the end of the seventh season, saying he wanted ‘great big babies,’ (how romantic).
However, Christie told The New York Times: ‘Tormund is quite a rough and ready man. He’s a man who’s bragged about having sexual intercourse with a bear, and so I question whether that is necessarily the right person for Brienne.’
‘She seems fairly repelled by Tormund’s strong overtures toward her. She’s more enthused by a more cerebral approach.’
Fans are holding on to hope of a romance though, as Gwendoline confessed in the interview that Jaime Lannister, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, was more Brienne’s type.
‘When Brienne and Jaime are together, something incredibly magnetic seems to occur, she revealed.
Christie went on: ‘Last season, there was that scene where she tries to persuade him to allow her to speak to the Blackfish, and she’s able to communicate and negotiate with him, and be heard by him in a way that doesn’t really exist between many of the other male and female characters.
‘In a way that’s not about manipulation, but is positive.’
Meanwhile, a deleted scene from the finale of season 7 has been found to contain a scene between Bran and Sansa Stark, which would have helped the finale make a bit more sense, and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it detail in the finale also left fans questioning whether Bran Stark was the Night King.
Now there’s no GoT, fans are spending time obsessing over the costumes of these cosplayers, who do a better job than the costume designers on set to bring the show’s characters to life.
