Does Bran Time Travel? Is there a Time Travel Paradox? The goal of this video is to debunk that Paradox for Game of Thrones and other shows and movies that have a similar view of Spacetime and Bulk Creatures
As someone says in the the Movie “The Discovery,” “Time is a non-linear illusion created by man.”

Whether or not Bran had done this for ever ( loop ). the fact remains that it was his mind melding with Hodor in the past that made him carry out that command the rest of his whole life.
the Paradox part is, that in order for this NOT to be a paradox, we would have to accept the notion that the universe was created with every story in place. that can never change. which would also include the future. but if we accept that at one time there was the original ( 1st play out ) of this story, the original time frame that had never been repeated before, in THAT time frame Bran did go back and make changes that changed the future.
Reality might actually be like how you explain in the video, but it is not something our minds can wrap our heads around. for example if we accept the universe was born at the instant of the big bang. from that point on the future experiences of everything that will exist, has not happened for the first time yet. ( at least not for our logical minds ), in other words, everything will be happening for the 1st time, and Bran from the future cannot view or interact with the past, simply because that future bran does not exist yet. here is the paradox.
This is awesome!
Melissandre has seen the wrong future before i think
Rickon could've used a good electric slide.
"It's a ride" – Bill Hicks
The graphic portrayal of X, Y and Z you use doesn't make sense o.o
I'm no mathematician, so maybe I'm missing something, but to me it plain don't make sense to display them like that. What happened to the typical three dimensional portrayal like in the corner of 3d modeling software.
How did bran create hodor? He wasen't even born when wylis became hodor? Same with the mad king theory. He wasen'y born. Can someone explain for me
Rickon line was ice cold, man
What if Brann studies what really happens in the past, or better yet, sees it, and stays quiet. For example, Ned's beheading. He watches how it happened, then he goes again, and screams at Illyn Pain and Illyn is unable to decapitate Ned. What happens then? Pribably Ned still gets beheaded by someone else. The Hound most likely since after all, it was Sandor who grabbed Ned's head and showed it to the public. But it's a nice curiosity.
your video structures and substance are always spot on.
Good explanation. This has always been my understanding as well. It reminds me a lot of Season 5 on LOST for those who have seen it. Farraday would explain to the other characters that it doesn't work like what they saw on Back To The Future and that "Whatever happened, happened" with or without the involvement of the time travelling characters.
With regards to the Mad King's influencing whispers, I think we're going to find out it was actually Bloodraven that was the cause.
most people think that time is a strict progression of cause and effect, but it's actually a ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey…stuff
the way I look at all reality is as a stopped ever expanded set of of dimensions, where everything possible is already set but we can choose our paths through it. so even if bran causes branches it wouldn't matter because we all always create branching realities, and if there's a discrepancy then you can just slip into the nearest one to your original position. kinda like a Mandela effect might be.
"Everyone wants to know their future, until they know their future" … I did wonder if this was also the show runners having a dig at those who hunt out spoilers.
Time travel my most favorite theory in science fiction/speculative fiction! I believe in parallel universes as well . I see our lives as roads/paths. Just cause we choose one way of two doesn't mean that another me didn't take the other road. The rode not taken is always being taken , as I see it! Each split in the road is being taken by another me. A me in a parallel universe. Plus , remember that George r r Is first and foremost a science fiction/ speculative writer! I have no problem with the time travel aspect . Heck, folks don't seem to have trouble with dead armies fighting the living! Time travel rocks ! ! !
u are good
What if Bran is God?! That will explain why he was part of the past before he was born.
Very well explained! Are you a physicist? Also, I love Martin's line, "The ink is dry." So, literary and explains time as you did!
Nice video bro! I'd appreciate if you checked out my channel as well! Keep up the vids! ๐
The future is inevitable you can know what will happen and try to change it but in fact those changes made is what caused the future
oh and I kept thinking of the whale episode of Futurama.. ๐ค geek n me ooh yeah
I don't know what I like best seeing Deadpool doing the electric slide or if I wanna just Hahaha this at the people who try to argue and argue about this. I'll just say My darlin Deadpool.. Let's dance!๐
I just watched a video about 4 dimensions, with my 3 dimensional eyes, through a 2 dimensional screen and with my 1 dimensional brain
awesome. the ink is dry idea makes sense both in terms of the past and future. it can be applied to real life but I also think it makes even more sense in the context of a book. Idk if you've ever heard of a book called Sophies world but it's really good check it out sometime it kinda explains this a bit more. anyways the point is that if you think of all the characters in GOT as figures in a book then essentially their past and future are pre determined they are slaves to it. so mechanics of space and time are different to them than to us in the real world. get me? I mean that to all the people in planetos, because they are just figments of imagination, their destiny is pre determined there is no changing it even if they know it so you're theory totally makes sense. one more thing, I always thought it strange that Ned brought Jon up as his bastard I mean I get that he had to protect him and what not but I always thought that he would have told catelyn at least. considering how much the fact that he brought a bastard home upset her and didn't fit his code of honor. I think he could have told her the truth and that would have made her relationship with Jon better and would have been better than her believing he cheated. I know he had to protect Jon but he could have trusted catelyn more than anyone in the world. so it was strange to me that he presented him as his son. but maybe when Ned heard bran shouting "father!" he took it as a sign to raise Jon as a son. not understanding why or even who it was, but subconsciously maybe. what do you think? please let me know when you can. love your channel bro keep it up
The main factor you forgot about in this equation is that the story is FICTION so it's possible for anything to happen. All Stone and fossilized into stone items placed in fire splits to fragments, not liquifies into life, because it's fantasy. Good fantasy.
Amazing!
Time is an human invention.. Does any other species care about time other than humans? We invented time as a tool to measure, just like weight, height etc. The whole time travel thing is bullshit.
The history exists because it was documented as songs and stories. How we derive time is from how fast earth rotates on its axis. That is all to it.
This is very good. I love this space-time continuum stuff.
How about a video on the Order of Green Men and/or Isle of Faces??? I have a sneaking suspicion that's where Howland Reed is hiding.
bootstrap paradox
why didnt you explain your theory
bran need to do only one thing! go to the time that the children created the first man and convince them to find peaceful solution. this will change history for good….and make him erase his existence also,
Thanks for the video bridge4! You seem to watch the same shows as me, Westworld is where I got to know about you. I am a little sad that you don't have more subscribers because you deserve alot of more viewers, your content is always good and to the point! I will tell everyone I know about your videos and I hope you do alot more!
"He did it before he was born." The non sequitur of non sequiturs.
