I don't think they will be in hiding waiting to make a big reveal in season 8

May be the children of the forest still alive beyond the wall controlling white walkers but who were in the cave with three eyed raven somehow convinced by T. E. R. As the church convinced people when scientists gave something in medival period

I think the remaining children are hiding in the unreachable swamp. But the question is why would the children High north of the wall where the white walkers are? I think the truth is they're still bitter with man even though they made that pack to live together and they built that wall with the white walkers. I think the children have an ulterior motive and they're still bitter about Mankind destroying most of their people. They may have lied and said they would stay north of the wall to health protect Mankind from the white walkers if they were to ever reach the wall but I just think that's a lie. They may want to seize control over them again but the night King will have to be destroyed and then they can gain control of the White Walkers and then they can take all their land back from man.

The neck is a very likely place for them to be since I believe that they reproduce by having sex with crenogmen. where are the male children?…. hiding right in plain sight. just like the deep ones they look normal in their youth but then turn into eternally living(HIDEOUS) deep ones. the difference is that male children of the Forrest maintain their human characteristics for life…. Howland Reed is most likely one of them…… Also the Isle of Faces is a very likely place for them to be. There Is something HUGE coming at the Isle!!! Books and Show!!!!

I think due to there being a weirwood tree in winterfell and it's said that children of the forest hide in caves that there could be some hiding in the crypts of winterfell

I have a question, why did the white walkers turn on the children? The children created them, so what could of caused them to turn on the children? Maybe that can help explain what there reasoning for moving on the wall other than just world domination.

What if the weirwood trees can regrow the children. And the only way to really kill the children is to chop down a tree. Which is why the first men were conned into worshipping the old Gods. The trees are gods and gods create children. Hence children of the forest

I think the Crannogmen are mixed breed children/humans and there are still children of the forrest there

On the TV show Wun-Wun was the very last giant left. In the book I think that there are more giants left other than Wun-Wun. As for the Children of the forest, there could be others living beneath other trees around Westeros. The Gods Eye, where there is a large amount of Weirwood trees, it's quite possible that underground there are more! It's just a guess that's highly likely since they like to end their lives beneath the trees in the roots. There may also be children that are former Greenseers that are below trees encompassed in roots from ages past.
In the book beneath the tree where Bloodraven is, it is stated that dozens of greenseers from ages past are in the roots of the trees. Some could still move, and one even try's to talk to them as they explore the caverns beneath the tree.

My money's on the Isle of Faces.

Maybe the Starks are buried in the catacombs so the knowledge of where the last children of the forests' hiding spots will be kept secret from the collective knowledge of the old god and possibly the white walkers. Ned had a respect for the trees and seems like the noble type of person that would help save a dying race.
