To get the throne and rule the mythical land of Westeros, nine families fought a war for it. Yes, the talk is about Game of Thrones, which had seen its last season premiering on 17 April 2019, since when it had a massive fan base. The show was well known for its unexpected twists and the swags in the storyline. The first six seasons of the show was wholeheartedly welcomed by the fans, but the last two seasons did not meet the range, which disappointed the fans a lot. They never expected such a show to end in that way. But the news of Spin-off gave the fans a ray of hope.
What is the spin-off all about?
George R R Martin, the creator of the show, said that he had four-plus one scripts for the spin-off while leaving LA. This statement made confusion among the fans that how many parts of the spin-off would be there. Later it was clarified. HBO’s president said that only one show would come in the end, even if many shows are in the making. As the bar is set high up, the creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss want a perfect and apt spin-off for the season.
Another confusion of the Spinoff was whether the spin would act as a sequel or a prequel. Well, R R Martin, made it clear that the spin-off would be a prequel to the show. The spin-off would be portraying the story 300 years before the events in the show. He also added that instead of calling the show a prequel or spinoff, he preferred the name “Successor show.” Another spoiler would be that the show may not be even in Westeros.
Who would form the cast?
Martin has clearly stated that the spin-off would happen 300 years prior to the show, which gives us a clear vision that the current cast would not be there anywhere in this prequel. That’s all we could expect now, as no further announcements are made.
We have no idea about what the “Successor show’, (as the director likes to call it) would be titled, House of Dragons, was the name considered while writing, that’s all we know. We could expect it so, or not.
When could we expect the release?
Casey Bole’s told us that we could expect the spin-off only a year after the show ends. The show ended on 19 May 2019. So we could expect the spin-off to get in the air by the fall of 2020.
