Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

Directed by Brian Fee (storyboard artist “Cars,” “Cars 2“) and produced by Kevin Reher (“A Bug’s Life,” “La Luna” short), “Cars 3” cruises into cinemas on 14th July, 2017.

  1. I think the idea of passing the number to Cruz stems from the rule in NASCAR that you are allowed to swap drivers mid-race. However, the driver that starts is the one that gets the points and win. There were a couple of instances where NASCAR drivers were healing from injuries and would only drive the car to the first caution flag, then swap out when they come down pit road.

Such a rule wouldn't really work in the Piston Cup unless the replacement car going into the race had to follow certain specifications and pass a pre and post-race inspections. Otherwise, teams would have a specific car for qualifying and then a specific car for racing, or even multiple cars. And in the real world, NASCAR has a one engine per race policy, but that wouldn't work here.

  2. I think a film based on Sally and how she ended up in Radiator Springs would be really good! Could have the film cut to black when she is all broken down for weeks and Doc find her and takes her in to fix her up. Then cut to the scene where she is telling McQueen about her story.

  3. Anyone thing that McQueen,Storm and 3 other racers go to London and race for the another World Grand Prix
It would be cool to see Francesco race agents Storm and McQueen (again)

It’s also like combining Cars 2 and 3 together to make a Cars 4

    MAJOR POINTS:

    1.) NO CRUZ

2.) Mater,Holly and Finn get to hang out!!
(We all know we want to see dat date 😉

Edit: against*,scratch that NO CRUZ cuz it would be cool for her to meet more characters 🙂

  4. Sally just wasnt used enough in the sequels of Cars. She's such a big supporting character but is hardly shown with Lightning especially in Cars 3. Although i almost cried when (SPOILER) Lightning said to Sally "Love you!" as he left for his training :DDDDDDDDD BEST MOMENT OMGGGGG but yeah, i would LOVE to see a Sally backstory and more relationship building with her and Lightning.
