Former chancellor George Osborne has revealed his Game Of Thrones allegiances lie with the Lanniesters, and in particular Cersei.

‘As a former chancellor, I thought the Lannisters had a point about settling debts,’ revealed George.

‘I know this is a controversial thing to say – obviously the dragon queen is wonderful but Cersei Lannister has had a pretty tough life, she’s a women in a man’s world, surrounded by controlling husbands and brothers all of whom have been trying to do her in.’

George served as Chancellor of the Exchequer under Prime Minister David Cameron from 2010 to 2016.

Cersei is known as one of the show’s most ruthless and ambitious characters; she has betrayed everyone who trusts her including her brother Jaime.

However although some consider her a strong leader, she has proven she is unable to think about the long-term consequences of her actions.

Cersei is a member of House Lannister, which in George R.R Martin’s books and subsequent TV adaptation is one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in the kingdom of Westeros.

In the show, she has controversially engaged in an incestuous relationship with her brother in order to keep the Lannister bloodline going; the pair were parents to Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen but all three have died.

She currently sits on the Iron Throne but at the end of season seven she was left with no allies as the Lannisters lost ground and betrayed the Starks and the Targaryens.

Jaime also left her over her decision to go behind his back, and although she threatened to kill her, she was unable to do so as he is the only man she’s ever loved.
