It’s that time of week once again where we head over to HBO’s Making Game of Thrones blog to catch a glimpse at props, concept art and other stuff from the latest episode. This week, it’s all about Episode 804, “The Last of the Starks.”
Let’s start with a close look at one of the costumes from the episode, Cersei’s red dress:
Since Tommen died, Cersei has pretty much worn nothing but black. She finally bringing the color back — Lannister colors — as she prepares for war.
A prop that caught my eye was the letter Varys wrote to Sansa telling her about Rhaegar’s death and Missandei’s capture:
“The Queen is unhurt but distraught, as are the rest of her advisers.” I feel like Varys is signaling something here.
I wonder if this is the item Sophie Turner swiped from the set. “I kept a scroll,” she said about a month back. “Bryan from props gave it to me on my last day. But it’s a huge spoiler for the show, for season 8, so I’ve kept it away in the depths of my wallet, never to be seen by anyone.”
Next up, take a look at one of the pieces of concept art for the confrontation outside the walls of King’s Landing:
I love that Drogon is prowling around in the background, just out of reach of those scorpions on the battlements.
HBO has also gifted us with storyboards:
Head on over to Making Game of Thrones to see more of this stuff.
Finally, artist Robert M. Ball has released this week’ Beautiful Death artwork. Naturally, it’s about Missandei:
“Dracarys” was Missandei’s last word. The image of Missandei and Grey Worm walking together on the beaches of Naath is pretty heartwrenching. To the right, we see Rhaegal falling to his death.
I can only imagine how next week’s Beautiful Death will look. Get ready.
