  1. I got FURTHER in Contra: Shattered Soldier, near the very end… but I can barely get to the SECOND LEVEL in this game?! This has to be the hardest contra game… and yes, I beat Hard Corps on Sega Genesis.

  2. i wanna be the guy isnt hard, its a rage game, its made to be unfair on purpose, remembering the entire game to be able to win is not fun imo,and does not deserve the word "hard". its completely artificial

  3. My friend and I played this game, we managed to beat it in about an hour, but the thing you got to understand is that he played it a lot when he was a kid and memorized it pretty good. Even with all that and the cheat codes we had to do a restart and he had to carry the final level while I just watched. It's a really hard game, and no one should be ambushed with this without knowing it's really hard.

This game desperately needs infinite continues.

  4. Apparently Arin's life isn't canon with itself… He played this with Jon, knew how to diagonal shoot at the wall boss, got past giant skeletor and did just fine… Why does he suck at games so much now?

  5. Hey we made our game too short let's make it super impossible to give the illusion that it's longer. That's the antithesis of good game design.

The problem with these Nintendo hard games is not that they were designed to be challenging (int he way that games like Hollow Knight, Cuphead or many modern Rogue-likes are) but that their programming is shit. Shoddy collision & hit boxes, unresponsive controls, required pixel precision in combination with muddy pixel graphics, enemies spawning outta nowhere, enemy waves that last way too long, bosses not giving you clear tells, non-existent respawn points and last but not least an old-school game desing convention that needs to be abandoned for all eternity: Limited continues.

  6. I would "on one condition" that harder than my pecker!

"If Arin perfects it, and can beat it in as many 10-15 minute episodes (3 or 4), DAN has to practice, and beat it two player with him (no episode limit, failure is an option)."
