With the onset of the latest season of Game of Thrones, there are countless fans coming up with their own versions of what happens in the shows and countless other forms of speculation which seem just as plausible as the next one in line. However, the Creative Director of the series recently revealed that the hints to the show rests in the intro sequences.
It turns out that the intro sequence which had been more or less similar throughout all the seven past seasons with some minor differences is being changed for season eight. The new season will bring along a new intro sequence for the show with drastic changes as compared to previous changes. Creative Director Angus Wall revealed that he had other plans for the intro sequence and that his version would be nothing like the ones seen today. When asked about whether this intro could be found in the final season of the show, he said that it was not a possibility.
âWe explored that with an animated sequence following the raven,â said Wall. âIn the interim, though, there was an issue that came up during the pilot, which was that nobody knew what the wider world looked like or where anyone was. So we created these little map journeys to go in-between scenes.â
he further revealed that his creative team were highly motivated for the job they were given and that they wanted everything to be hand-built. This reportedly served the purpose of a madman working away in solace, making a world as per his own grand scheme of the ideal. A stark resemblance to what the ultimate prize in âGame of Thronesâ really is.
âThe idea was that everything needed to be hand-built, he said. âThe idea of a mad monk in a tower, building all this stuff and going at it with a saw and a chisel. Making sure heâs building his world the way he wants.â
However, the final addition which the creative director had to include was the fact that they were including quite a lot of easter eggs in the intros for their fans. He said that the entire process was quite fun, but it also gave hints about whatâs to occur in the series. Provided the fans can figure the easter eggs out.
âThere are a lot of Easter eggs in the titles if youâre paying attention,â Wall teased. âLittle things that will reward you over the course of the show. And this last season wonât be any different.â
While this would certainly speak a lot to the ones who are able to decipher the language of these easter eggs and figure them out, this can also serve to create a lot of extra controversies and fan theories about these shows as well seeing how different people would perceive these hints differently. In the end game, the genius of this plan lies in the fact that they can give away major details about the show without really giving out anything about it. Fans would have to wait and find out what eventually happens the old fashioned way instead, when the final season airs on April 14.
