WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR SEASONS 1-7
Game of Thrones is one of the bloodiest shows on television, and it’s taken some serious creative liberties with the source material, especially since it’s now surpassed the timeline in George R.R. Martin’s books. With a body count that continues to climb with every episode, there’ve been quite a few characters to bite the dust on the show, even if they’re still alive and well in Martin’s world. Here are some of those dead Game of Thrones characters you may still read about in The Winds of Winter…
Catelyn Stark | 0:25
Ramsay Bolton | 1:27
Shireen Baratheon | 2:37
Alliser Thorne | 3:48
Tommen Baratheon | 4:40
Myrcella Baratheon | 5:39
Rickon Stark | 6:39
Hodor | 7:09
Lancel Lannister | 7:47
Walder Frey | 8:38
Olenna Tyrell | 9:28
Benjen Stark | 10:13
Littlefinger | 10:56
Viserion | 11:49
The rest of the undead | 12:25

Were there any dead characters in Game of Thrones who are still alive in the books that we missed? Let us know in the comments below!
Olenna Tyrell is my favorite, will always be salty about her death XD
Great video…but I feel like most of these mentions are invalid as most of them died well after where the books ended. I mean, if you need a point of reference, every death after the point where Jon Snow was stabbed by the Night's watch is a good place to start. Better mentions probably would have been some like Stannis(still alive and well with Brienne being no where near him at the time) and Barristan (there was a small mention at the end but feel like his death was probably one of the more disappointing deviations from the story; feel like it could have had a better mention). Still love the show, just not sure this video has a lot of relevant content in context to where the books ended and the deaths that are mentioned.
Been a couple years since I read the books myself, but aren't Daenerys' blood riders still alive too? The ones that got killed off in season 2.
Two slight errors:
There is no three-eyed raven in the books. Instead, it's a three-eyed crow.
The Night King has nothing to do with the leader of the Others. Indeed, by all the legends, the Night King was a human and the 13th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch – which is to say, long after the Long Night.
Additionally, the clues point to Coldhands not being Benjen, but actually… The Night King. However, it's still possible it's Benjen.
Are there any opposites ie: characters dead in books but still alive on TV?
Wun Wun T_T
We don't really know if the Blackfish is dead. He slipped away from stuff like that before.
The difference of savagery for George's writing is simply; you can't suffer if you're dead.
D & D RUINED GOT!
and to think everyone was bitching not enough people died in season 7. yet the show runners in reality over did the kills threw the series lol
George R. R. Martin has confirmed that Coldhands and Benjen are two separate entities.
Yeah, really shocking that one of the dragons died. I never expected that. Total surprise. I was amazed.
what about the Night King? he is mentioned once in the first book and thats it 😛
Heya.. straight Does anybody recognize smarter than this work ?!
Technically we don't know if Benjen is alive or dead in the books. George RR Martin said Coldhands isn't Benjen in the books.
The sandsnakes werearguably the worst decision ever made by D&D untill shitty season seven.
Season 7 is the best season of TV ever made in the history of TV.
I hope they spend twice as much money on season 8 since I think it is only 6 episodes.
Isn't the narrator dex from the creatures etc?
I can't read the books now since they sound really different from the show and it would be weird
I swear this guy is genderless child in undertale realistic
Uh-huh. Does anyone think GRRM is working hard to do anything like finish the series? He may come out with one new book, somewhat different from the TV show to make money off the notoriety. Said next book is already overdue by years(?) already. He should just take his big bucks from HBO and move to Tahiti.

Ser Barristan Selmy only gets a brief mention? Weak.

Not all signs point to benjen being coldhands in the book… First of all, Benjen's nephew doesn't recognise him as Benjen. Secondly, we're told he was killed "a long time ago" which doesn't at all fit with Benjen… honestly aside from benjen being missing the same play we meet coldhands, and both being former crows, there is nothing to point to them being the same.
Littlefinger became a little puddle
OF BLOOD
(Duh..)
Game of Throne's solution for making the story simpler for idiots:
"Burn them! Burn them all!"
Why do ppl keep calling those incest kids baratheons
Meh…most of these characters are still alive in the books simply because the books haven't caught up to the show
Spoiler Alert
Hotpie is Azor Ahai
You missed the potential marcella swap in the books
I wouldn't trust GRR Martin with these so called "secrets". I bet he told them that so they can do it on the show, but he will do other things in his books. That way he would have the shock factor, and everyone would go and buy the books to read the original story.
Game of Thrones is to this generation as "V" was to people of the 1980's.
Oh really? Maybe is because the last book was published 15755466363 years ago?
They failed to mention Summer and Shaggydog.
But, the show passed the books and isn't Martin telling then what's happening? Then, the deaths in the show should probably be on their way in the books as well, just in a different fashion when they finally catch up.
So basically, nothing like the book.
got is shit nowadays
Where is Syrio Forel in the books?
Maybe Benjen can come back to south of the wall because there is no wall. If he's alive.
I heard there is a House on the rise in Westeros. It's led by a man they call "Ser Twenty of House Goodmen". Has anyone heard about this?
Hated Catyln! I'm happy she stayed dead
