  2. You're totally right. Aemon did a lot of the same with Sam. These old dudes seem to prefer to let young guys take the credit and smile from the shadows.

    I've read the story of the tourney so many time and it wasn't till just recently I realized something crazy. At no time do the books really seem to care what flower the queen of love and beauty is crowned with. So we can assume it's fairly random. The person that sets it up probably has his wife or some one else make or buy a flower crown.

    Rhaegar specifically crowned Lyanna with blue winter roses. According to the story Lyanna was probably the knight of the laughing tree and they met when Rhaegar went looking at his father's orders.

    How have we never called BS? Those flowers are specifically grown in the glass house at winterfell. It's a trademark. Rhaegar would have to have met Lyanna, learned about her love of the roses, used a star trek transporter to go to winterfell and grab the flowers, and then get back in time to finish and win the tourney so he could crown her. The other choice is that Ser Whent' s brother specifically bought them from winterfell. What were the odds of that? Those flowers had to be brought by Lyanna, Eddard or Benjen because they knew Rhaegar was going to crown her.

    Crowning her with flowers that could only come from winterfell could only happen if the two of them had already met. Otherwise it's entirely down to luck that those flowers were used to make the crown and that Rhaegar had won.

    If you had been promised to some one you didnt want, but you'd met the crown Prince, and he agreed to help you out of the wedding, how would you do it? First step would be having some one indicate they were interested, and that person had to be some one Robert couldn't protest. Everyone has focused on Rhaegar picking out a young hot teen. No one seems to wonder if Lyanna had lured him in order to have some one of a higher station get her out of the marriage to Robert. They might have hoped Robert would simply withdraw his interest. At the end of the day, there is no way that blue crown and Rhaegar putting it on her wasn't planned. Judging by the weird choices I tend to think Benjen did it. It would take a lot of guilt for some one who was second in line to leave winterfell and take black.

    There is no way that wasn't planned weeks before. It takes three weeks to get to kingslanding. I wouldn't put it past maester Wyls either. Nothing would bind the north to the crown if you wanted to knit an alliance to set aside king Aerys.

  6. +AzorAhype I believe that Elia was in on what Rhaegar did. Elia is from Dorne and so just based on this, we know that she had more liberal feelings about love and marriage. I kept wondering why they went to the Tower of Joy. The only way it makes sense if Elia was in on it and believed that Rhaegar had to have another child and told him about the Tower of Joy. I mean think about it, it's this tower out in the middle of nowhere, probably an old guard tower that Elia told him about that was abandoned. And to have servants there and 3 of the kings guard. This was a set up and a very well planned one. I think Elia was on team Jon Snow.

  9. Sir your statement is wrong the reason WHY Rheagar left 3 King Guards at the Tower Joy because he told them to. If Rheagar order them guard a tree they would do it.  If Jon in tower was so-called King what about Aegon or Viserys? who was the next King? Aegon

  25. My theory is that Jamie kill the mad king by Rhaegar orders. Rhaegar must heard about lyanna brother and father death. He was furious of what his father did. Rhaegar might hold jamie the truth and tell him not to tell no one about him and Lyanna. Remember two Kingsguard listen to Rhaegar orders to protect Lyanna and their future child. Rhaegar told Jaime that if the mad king do something with killing, Jaime must kill him because Rhaegar know what he'll do.
