EastEnders is set to welcome a brand new face in the wake of Halfway’s return to Walford as Ricky Champ has joined the cast as the hapless local’s older brother Stuart – who is set to bring trouble for Danny Dyer’s character Mick Carter.

Ricky played Gatins, a member of Brotherhood Without Banners, in two episodes of the sixth season of Game Of Thrones. He met a particularly gruesome end at the hands of The Hound, who buried an axe in his head.

He has also appeared in The World’s End, Him & Her, Tracey Ullman’s Show, Casualty and Law & Order: UK. He once appeared in EastEnders in the small role of a photographer way back in 2009.

Speaking about his new role as Stuart, he enthused: ‘I’m so happy to be part of this brilliant team of people on this great show that I grew up watching. Look out Albert Square – Stuart’s coming!’

Stuart is an old friend of Mick’s and the pair will get up to no good together. Mischievous Stuart will lead Mick astray and they will enjoy some hijinks together – but how will this go down with Mick’s wife Linda?

Ricky has already started filming and Halfway and Stuart will be on our screens later this spring.
