Eddie Hall has continued to marinate the beef between him and Hafthor Bjornsson ahead of their 2021 boxing match, threatening to ‘beat the living s**t’ out of his rival’s entourage.
The two giants have a long-running feud stemming from Bjornsson believing he was harshly treated by officials at the 2017 World’s Strongest Man, which Hall went on to win.
The man who plays the Mountain in Game of Thrones feels a point was chalked off his score unfairly, and has been vocal about how he believes he deserves the title, not Hall.
The Beast is unhappy that his victory has been tainted by these claims, and in sharing a video which he feels proves that he won the contest legitimately, Hall sent a message to the Icelandic behemoth.
‘Hafthor Bjornsson, you and your yes men should be ashamed of yourselves,’ Hall said on a YouTube video.
‘Words are cheap and I’m sick and tired of hearing the lies and excuses coming out of your mouths.
‘You used to be a good man, believe it or not, I used to class you as a good friend, but you’ve been poisoned by your yes men.
‘I’ve got one little bit of advice for you, Thor, your yes man can’t get in the ring with you next year when we fight, and if they do, I will beat the living s**t out of them until they become your no men.’
Bjornsson went on to win the 2018 World’s Strongest Man and now he and Hall will step into the boxing ring in September 2021 to settle their differences.
Hall explained further why the personal animosity has escalated between the two men, who used to be pals.
‘When I achieved my dream of winning World’s Strongest Man three years ago I couldn’t wait to get back to Britain to thank everyone and share the title,’ said the Beast.
‘Before I even got home to my friends and family to tell them the news, one man took bad sportsmanship to a whole new level and it was plastered all over the world’s media.
‘This is a quote from Hafthor Bjornsson: “I was robbed.”
‘For the last three years, instead of answering questions about how I defeated some of the greatest strongmen to ever live, Hafthor included. Instead I had people questioning whether I really won it or not.
‘Hafthor Bjornsson and his entourage have been smearing my title and the referee Colin Bryce’s reputation for the last three years.
‘Because he was the Mountain from Game of Thrones, a huge TV star, people listened and people believed him.
‘I’ve had enough of the doubters saying he was robbed and how hard done by he was. So today, I came across a video that ends all the smack talk and silences the doubters.
‘This video stopped me in my tracks for how desperate a man can be when things don’t go his way. It’s time for the truth to be told, for the pictures to do the talking.’
The controversy came from Bjornsson’s attempt at the Viking Press and the issue of ‘double dipping’ when lifting the enormous weights.
Make your own mind up by watching the video as to whether the Mountain or the referee made the right call.
