Game of Thrones ended more than a year ago, leaving fans and the cast emotionally wrecked, alike. Fans miss the amazing fantasy show dearly. The cast, having worked for nearly 10 years together, feel a part of them missing. However, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played the evil-turned-good knight Jaime Lannister thinks differently. The actor talked to the Independent on various topics in a candid interview. The conversation ranged from his favourite football club to his reaction to Game of Thrones’ ending.
The 50-year-old actor revealed Leeds United was his favourite football club. He said, “I love Leeds United football club, but I won’t be depressed for days if they lose.” Waldau displayed the same amount of professionalism when asked about missing Game of Thrones.
Nikolaj revealed he doesn’t miss playing Jaime Lannister. He is done talking about the show and wanted fans to move on and appreciate his other works as well. He quips wryly, “Shall I be honest now? What I think you’d want to hear if I were you is, ‘Oh God, I was depressed for weeks; it was so difficult to get over it.’ We’d spent 10 years together so, by virtue of that, it was an emotional moment because it suddenly came to an end. But half an hour later?”
He continued with a shrug, “It took me 10 years to understand things come to a natural end. Now, I’m just an old, cynical, cold-hearted man.”
