Emilia Clarke is almost done filming Game of Thrones Season 8 and has already shot her final scene

Game of Thrones is currently filming for Season 8, as you might know, the show is getting closer to wrapping up filming for good. Now, as we know, the production recently filmed at Seville, Spain, and the filming involved a lot of lead members, but surprisingly, Emilia Clarke, who is one of the biggest stars on the show, playing an important character, Daenerys Targaryen, wasn’t a part of the bunch. It has now been confirmed that Emilia is officially done filming for Game of Thrones. Read on!

Now, as you know, Emilia has a new movie coming out, the Star Wars film Solo, and she has been going around on the press tour for promotion of the film while her counterparts filmed for Season 8. In the cover story feature for Vanity Fair, Emilia gave such a tease about Daenerys’ final scene:

“It fucked me up. Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is . . .”

She even talked about her on-screen nephew/lover, Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow and how she has a teasing relationship with him:

“I’ll tell him, ‘Kit, stop being a dick—stop being so grumpy.’ Like I would with my brother.”

Kit Harington also was a part of this feature, and talked about their on-screen romance:

“If you’ve known someone for six years, and they’re best friends with your girlfriend, and you’re best friends with them, there is something unnatural and strange about doing a love scene. We’ll end up kissing and then we’re just pissing ourselves with laughter because it’s so ridiculous.”

Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss talked about how they try to let some of Emilia’s charm and humor into Daenerys. Emilia commented on whether we’ll see any of that in Season 8, teasing it a bit more:

“[In Season 8] I’m doing all this weird shit. You’ll know what I mean when you see it.”

In another interview with ET, she revealed that she had finished filming about 75% of Season 8:

“I’m about three quarters of the way through filming it, if not maybe a little more. I am, yes, utterly heartbroken to be saying goodbye to her. [Daenerys]”
