Emilia Clarke has revealed Jason Momoa got ‘everyone as drunk as humanly possible’ at a recent Game of Thrones reunion, celebrating series creator David Benioff’s birthday.
Emilia and Jason – who starred as husband and wife Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo in the record-breaking HBO series – sent fans wild when they shared photos of their reunion on Instagram.
Jason, 42, had everyone on the floor, according to his Khalessi, passing round endless bottles of whiskey as Emilia, 34, shared more details about that party.
‘Oh God, it was beautiful. When Jay’s in town, you know it’s going down,’ Emilia told People.
‘He walks into the room and you’re just like, “My man.”
‘It’s almost like a test, every time he sees [me] he’s like, “Can I still throw you around the room? Yeah I can.”‘
At the time, Emilia shared a photo in Jason’s huge arms, both grinning from ear-to-ear, while, as it turns out, trying various different whiskeys.
In another Instagram post from Jason, she was sat on his lap while he captioned the shot: ‘MOON OF MY LIFE. you are wonderful love u forever happy birthday benioff you handsome generous badass leo aloha j.’
She commented with a hefty hashtag: #DrinkingWithDrogoImAmazedWeSurvived as well as #TheBoysAreBackInTown and #LikeHeNeverLeft.
‘I mean, I’ve never tried so many different whiskeys in my entire life,’ she added.
‘There were a couple that were really nice, and there were a couple that were paint stripper, and I literally was like, “Yeah I’m gonna down you, get hair on your chest.” It was funny.’
The pair have been famously close off the set of Game of Thrones. Speaking on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard, Emilia remembered: ‘He took care of me in an environment where I didn’t know I needed to be taken care of.’
Reflecting on the scenario, Emilia said she realised only now ‘how fortunate’ she had been.
‘That could’ve gone many, many, many different ways. Jason was an experienced actor who had done a bunch of stuff before coming onto this [Game of Thrones].
‘He was like, “Sweetie, this is how it’s meant to be and this is how it’s not meant to be. I’m going to make sure that’s the f**king case”.
‘He was so kind and considerate, and cared about me as a human being.’
Game of Thrones is available to stream on NOW TV.
