Game of Thrones is over, and while that’s sad, the show’s stars are moving on with life. Some are plunging into new projects, others are playing with adorable puppies, others are…actually, I’m suddenly hung up on the puppies. Let’s see that first.
Among the celebrities playing with puppies at the Toronto International Film Festival are Game of Thrones stars and Emmy nominees Carice van Houten (Melisandre) and Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy). Consider your spirits lifted.
From Handlers of Puppies to the Mother of Dragons, we turn your attention now to a new trailer for Last Christmas, where Emilia Clarke plays a grouchy Christmas elf:
Let’s hope this love story turns out better than the last time Emilia Clarke had an onscreen romance.
But for real, though, Clarke plays Kate, a girl who almost died one Christmas and now works at a year-round Christmas store. Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) is Tom, her love interest. Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery) plays Kate’s boss, and Emma Thompson (Late Night) is Adelia, Kate’s mother. Thompson also produced and wrote the movie. This is an Emma Thompson joint starring Daenerys Targaryen.
Last Christmas is in theaters November 8.
Moving on, Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) is out there promoting his insanely expensive show See, airing soon exclusively on the Apple TV+ streaming service. Watch the trailer and see if you like it:
Momoa plays a chieftain named Baba Voss, making his way in a future where all of mankind is now blind because we dropped nukes or didn’t properly recycle our plastics or something. “This show was the greatest thing I’ve ever worked on,” he said on Instagram. “Ouch,” said Game of Thrones.
Finally, Joe Dempsie (Gendry) shared a photo of himself from back in 2003, when he was 16 and somehow got to meet the stars of Friends at the height of their fame:
There’s babyfaced Gendry, just hanging out with Monica, Rachel and Phoebe. How did this happen? We demand details!
Amazing use of a hashtag, though.
