Emilia Clarke has admitted that she cried the very first time she met Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z.

The Game Of Thrones actress lost her cool slightly when she was invited to the Oscars and said ‘she didn’t expect to see them in the flesh’ (we would be exactly the same Emilia).

On The Graham Norton Show, she explained to the host: ‘I did not expect to see them in the flesh. I wasn’t expecting that at all, I was just amazed to be invited. I was like,
“How did that happen?”

‘When I met Queen Bey I was too many drinks in and started crying. It didn’t go well. I think she got out of there very quickly.’

The host also questioned Emilia on her new film Last Christmas, and of course Game Of Thrones – and it turns out her friends weren’t interested in watching it.

She commented: ‘It started with things like, “We can’t afford to stream Game of Thrones, we don’t have the money, sorry Emilia,” then it was, “We’ll try and download it,” then it was season eight and I was having a screening of the last episode and they said, “So we’ve seven and three quarter seasons to catch up before this Sunday.’

Last Christmas is set to hit cinemas in the UK on 15 November, and the GOT star revealed that while filming the rom-com in London, drunk people would shout ‘how bad they were’ at acting.

She added: ‘Filming at Christmas in London last year was bonkers. Because we were in Covent Garden and Regent Street, we started at midnight and finished at midday and I was in a perpetual sort of hangover state.

‘Starting filming at midnight in the centre of London had its issues – there are a lot of drunk people wandering around and shouting at us and leaning out of windows telling us how bad we were.’

Also on Graham Norton tonight are Aquaman star Jason Momoa, Oscar-winner Regina King, comic Ross Noble and singer-songwriter Camila Cabello.

The Graham Norton Show airs tonight at 10.35pm.
