You can hardly fault Emilia Clarke’s logic as she explained how a night out with her is ‘good for the soul’.

What we wouldn’t give for a giggle-filled night out with Khaleesi!

The Game of Thrones star, who is gearing up for the final season, revealed she always ‘feels good’ following a night out, likening a boozy eve with her nearest and dearest as good as ‘eating her greens’.

‘Going to the pub with your mates is as good for the soul as staying in and watching TV,’ she told Marie Claire. ‘You could have eaten your greens and gone to bed early with a cup of tea, but a trip to the pub with the girls will make you feel better every time.

‘You wake up and feel good because you’ve giggled so much.’

As well as making sure she takes time out to recoup with her friends, the star, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO classic, added it’s not enough to be nice to others – you also have to be nice to yourself.

Which is, er, nice, isn’t it?

‘Every time someone says wellness, I think of brain wellness. It’s important to keep it in check. Once in a while, assess your dialogue. Have you said a lot of crap about yourself recently?’ she added. ‘When you start to do that, you begin to catch yourself out and realise that you should try and be a bit nicer.

‘I find so often that there have been moments where I’m like, “Oh they don’t like me,” Or, “I’m not good enough for that”. If you just try to shake that off and be open, you realise you’re projecting your insecurities onto them. When you spend your life putting your angst out there, you’re only going to get that back. If we all took care of ourselves, I think we’d be kinder to each other.’

It comes as the 32-year-old celebrated/mourned the end of her time as the dragon leader ahead of GoT’s final season, which, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Emilia chatted alongside Jon Snow AKA Kit Harington about the eighth and final instalment.

As Kit called the last round of filming ‘relentless’, Emilia added: ‘[Camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and make-up a bit sharper – every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it’. Everything feels more intense.’

Guess some more sessions as the pub is what’s needed, then, eh?

Game of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019.
