Warning: contains spoilers for House of the Dragon.
A sneak peek of the sixth episode of hit fantasy show House Of The Dragon has been released and it shows the Targaryen family is growing – though all is not as joyous as it seems.
The fifth episode of the show, released this week, showed Rhaenyra Targaryen, played by Milly Alcock, and Theo Nate’s Laenor Velaryon, tie the knot after a bloody and chaotic banquet.
The episode meant fans said goodbye to the actors as well as Emily Carey, who plays King Viserys (Paddy Considine) wife Alicent Hightower, before a ten-year time jump takes place in episode six.
Emma D’Arcy will take on the role of the older version Rhaenyra, alongside Olivia Cooke as Alicent and John Macmillan as Laenor.
The trailer for the upcoming sixth episode shows Rhaenyra and Alicent’s fractured relationship continues to spiral as well as a whole new generation of characters as King Viserys and Alicent’s son, Aegon (Ty Tennant), is now a teenager, and Rhaenyra and an adult Laena Velaryon (Nanna Blondell) are pictured with children of their own.
A sneak peek of the sixth episode has been posted onto the HBO Twitter page, showing Rhaenyra seeming to struggle after giving birth once more.
The scene opens with Laenor announcing the baby is a boy, before beaming at his wife carrying the newborn.
He congratulates Rhaenyra as she walks, seemingly in pain, to meet with an unknown woman as ‘she wants to see him.’
The heir to the throne is seen wincing and hobbling to her destination as Laenor guides her, asking her about the experience and trying to relate to her pain, saying ‘I took a lance through the shoulder once.’
The pair hit a crowd of onlookers before Rhaenyra stops in her tracks, uttering an expletive after experiencing an unknown issue.
She urges Laenor to continue walking, as the scene ends with him questioning ‘what could she possibly want? I thought we were past this.’
While fans are excited to watch Emma and Olivia in House of the Dragon, many are also upset to bid farewell to Milly and Emily, who were described as ‘sensational’.
‘We will miss you but your performances will always be with us,’ one person tweeted.
House Of The Dragon is available to stream on NOW.
