Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has aired a cheeky Game of Thrones Easter egg for Nicola and Charles’ feud.

The unexpected gag took place in a fairly serious episode on Tuesday (October 11), as Nicola continued her vendetta against Naomi and her family over the parking garage attack from earlier this year.

Viewers know that Naomi wasn’t part of the gang of girls who jumped Nicola, but witnessed the entire horrific scene without getting involved to help her.

This week, Nicola has decided to turn her attention to Naomi’s father by making a false complaint against him to the local bishop.

In new scenes, Nicola was trying to make a point about the ways Charles was supposedly abusing his power when she whipped out an apparent bible quotation.

Nicola claimed that Charles had told her: “A lion doesn’t concern itself with the opinion of the sheep.”

This was confusing for the bishop and rightfully so because Nicola later remembered she’d heard the memorable line in Game of Thrones rather than reading it in the scripture. Oops!

Thrones fans may remember that Tywin Lannister gave that cryptic quote in a season one episode to explain to son Jaime Lannister why it was foolish to care about others’ judgements.

Back in Emmerdale, Nicola finally had a crisis of conscience when she witnessed Charles comforting Faith Dingle in what will be her final days.

While Nicola decided to withdraw her complaint against Charles, she warned that she wasn’t finished pursuing legal recourse against Naomi.

“My battle with the church is over,” she said. “My fight with your family, how I still feel after what you’ve all done, not by a long chalk.”

Can Charles convince Nicola to give up her vendetta once and for all?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, and streams on the ITV Hub.
