Game of Thrones is coming to an end and it is a series that has seen various British actors take small and large roles.

This means that there should be no surprise that there are many Game of Thrones stars have also made appearances in British soaps like EastEnders and Coronation Street.

Some of them had permanent parts in a soap, which spanned several years, while others had brief appearances with nothing more than a first name.

Here are all of the Game of Thrones actors who have also starred in a soap at some point in their career.

Coronation Street

Stannis Baratheon first appeared in the show in season two, claiming to be the rightful King of Westeros (Picture: HBO)

Stephen Dillane

He played Stannis Baratheon from season two until season five, and the character was one of the five kings trying to claim the iron throne.

Stannis was later killed by Brienne of Tarth after losing a battle against Ramsay Bolton.

Appeared as Mark Siddal in one episode of Coronation Street in 1986.

David Bradley

David only appeared in five episode as Walder Frey across six seasons, but he left a lasting impression.

He was one of the main characters involved in the Red Wedding, and was responsible for the deaths of Robb and Catelyn Stark.

He played Detective Sergeant Simms in one episode of Coronation Street in 1980.

Burn Gorman

He had a short role in the drama when he played Karl Tanner, but he did have some key scenes north of the wall, including a fight with Jon Snow.

He ultimately died when he was stabbed in the back of the head by Jon.

One of Burn’s first TV roles came when he got the part of Ben Andrews in Coronation Street in 1998, who was a religious cult leaders.

It was a role that he played across sixteen episodes before leaving to work in America at his cult’s headquarters.

Ron Donachie

Ron played Rodrick Cassel in Game of Thrones, who was the master-at-arms at Winterfell, and was loyal to the Starks.

He died in season two after being executed by Theon Greyjoy.

Ron made a few appearances in Coronation Street in 1984 as Joe Schofield, who was a lorry driver that regularly visited Jim’s Cafe.

Peter Vaughan

Maester Aemon was a figure who was present at the Wall throughout the first five seasons, giving advice to Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly.

He later died of old age at Castle Black during season five.

Peter played Arthur Johnson on the Coronation Street for several episode in March and April 1966.

Ser Barristan Selmy became loyal to Daenerys Targaryen (Picture: HBO)

Ian McElhinney

Barristan Selmy was considered to be one of the best swordsmen in the Seven Kingdoms and after being dismissed by King Joffrey, he became a loyal servant of Daenerys Targaryen.

He appeared in 25 episodes before being killed during an ambush by the Sons of the Harpy.

Ian played Father Thomas in Corrie during March and April 2005.

Ralph Ineson

He played an ironborn called Dagmer Cleftjaw and during his five episode on the show he was initially loyal to Theon Greyjoy.

Dagmer then betrayed Theon and stabbed Maester Luwin, but was later killed by Ramsay Bolton and his men.

Ralph played Zack in the soap for several episode in 2005.

Roger Ashton-Griffiths

Mace Tyrell was Lord of Highgarden and after his families alliance with the Lannisters, he became Master of Ships and Master of Coin.

He died in season six when Cersei Lannister destroyed the Gret Sept of Baelor in King’s Landing with wildfire.

Roger played a neurosurgeon at various points in 2014 and early 2015, treating Tina McIntyre and Sinead Tinker.

Susan Brown

Septa Mordane only appeared in the first season of Game of Thrones as the tutor for Sansa and Arya Stark.

She travelled with them to King’s Landing where she was then executed by the Lannisters.

Susan originally played Connie Clayton the soap in 1985, living in 11 Coronation Street, but she moved out of the street just a year later.

The character did return in 2000, but played by a different actress.

Susan did also return to the street playing a different character in 2006, when she played Maureen Tully for two episodes.

Dominic Carter

He played Janos Slynt in Game of Thrones for the first five seasons, appearing in 15 episodes before being beheaded by Jon Snow at Castle Black.

He played D.C. Hooch in Coronation Street at various points in 2008 and 2009.

Qhorin Halfhand was only in Game of Thrones for a short period in season two (Picture: HBO)

Simon Armstrong

Qhorin Halfhand only featured for four episode in season two beyond the Wall.

He was a member of the Night’s Watch but was killed by Jon Snow, so that he could convince the Wildlings not to kill him.

Simon played Mr. Peakman for eight episodes in 2013, who worked as a surgeon and treated Hayley Cropper.

Clive Russell

He played Brynden Tully ‘The Blackfish’ in season three and six of Game of Thrones, and the character narrowly avoided death during the Red Wedding.

He was later killed while fighting the Lannisters to defend Riverrun.

Clive first appeared on the soap in September 1983 when he played a removal man called Frank, he then made a few appearances as Scotch Tommy in 1991 as a henchan of Phil Jennings.

He then played Phil Nail in 2005 and 2006, who was Gail Platt’s love interest at the time, and they met while he working as a reflexologist.

He Played Thoros of Myr in Game of Thrones from season three, appearing in 10 episodes as a member of the Brotherhood Without Banners.

The character brought his friend Berid Dondarrion back to life on several occasions with the help of the Lord of Light.

He played Douglas Baker in an episode of EastEnders in 2007.

Francis Magee

Yoren only appeared in the first two seasons of Game of Thrones, and was a member of the Night’s Watch.

He was helping to take Arya and others from King’s Landing to the Wall, but he was later killed at Harrenhal after being stabbed by Sey Amory Lorch.

Francis made numerous appearances as Liam Tyler between 1993 and 1995, who was the ex husband of Debbie Bates and father of Claire Bates.

Tony Way

Dontos Hollardwas first introduced in season two as a knight who was turned into a court fool by King Joffrey.

He later helped Sansa Stark flee King’s Landing but was then killed with a crossbow by Petyr Baelish.

Tony played Nick in two episodes of EastEnders in 2004.

Octavia Selena Alexandru

She played Leaf in the fourth season of Game of Thrones, when the characer made its first appearance in the show.

Leaf is part of the Children of the Forest, and was involved in the creation of the Night King.

She played Ineta Shirovs in EastEnders in 2014, the daughter of Aleks Shirovs.

Ramon Tikaram

Prendahl na Ghezn was one of the captains of the Second Sons, but he is killed in the same episode that he first appears in.

Ramon played Qadim Shah in EastEnders, who is the father of Amira Masood.

He was on the soap for around three years between 2009 and the start of 2012.

Andy Beckwith

Rorge appeared in the earlier seasons of Game of Thrones, appearing in five episodes across seasons one, two and four.

He was a criminal who was being taken to the Night’s Watch, but he is later killed by Arya Stark.

Andy appeared in EastEnders for three episode in 2003 when he played George Peters.

Oliver Ford Davies

He played Maester Cressen in Game of Thrones for one episode in the first episode of season two.

Cressen attempts to kill Melisandre with poison, but he dies instead.

Oliver played a psychiatrist in Eastenders for one episode in 1988.

Tamer Hassan

Khal Forzho was a Dothraki khal who appeared in season six of Game of Thrones.

He died after being burned alive by Daenerys Targaryen.

He originally played a henchman in EastEnders in 2001, but later appeared in two episodes as Ahmet in 2008.

Ian Gelder

He played Kevan Lannister in Game of Thrones with twelve appearances between season one and six.

Kevan was temporarily Hand of the King and Protector of the Realm for Tommen, but was later killed when Cersei Lannister destroyed the Sept of Baelor with wildfire.

Ian played Dr. Adam Gorman in EastEnders for two episodes in 2016, who is visited by Peggy Mitchell.

Mia Soteriou

She played Mirri Maz Duur during the first season of Game of Thrones

Daenerys Targaryen burned her alive following the death of her husband Khal Drogo.

Mia has had three different roles in EastEnders, first played a health visitor in one episode in 2000.

She then played P.C. Paula Campbell for three episode in 2003, followed by a one-off appearance as Meena Mukherjee in 2014.

Doreah was in season one and two of Game of Thrones and became a handmaiden of Daenerys Targaryen.

She is later locked in a vault to die after she is discovered sleeping with Xaro Xhoan Daxos.

Roxanne played Louise Summers in Hollyoaks between 2005 and 2008.

She died after being killed by her husband Warren Fox, who had disocvered that she was planning to kill him.

Loras Tyrell was in the first six seasons of Game of Thrones, and started as part of Renly Baratheon’s kingsguard.

He was later made a prisoner by the Faith Militant but then died when Cersie destroyed the Sept of Baelor with wildfire.

Finn appeared as Jamie in a few episodes of Hollyoaks and the spin-off series Hollyoaks Later in 2009 and 2010.

Fintan McKeown

Amory Lorch was a knight her served the Lannisters in season two, but he died after being killed by Jaqen H’Ghar as one of Arya Starks three kills.

Fintan played Seamus Brady in Hollyoaks for around three month between December 2012 and March 2013.

He was the father of Brandan and Cheryl Brady, but died shortly after he arrived on the soap when he was shot by his daughter Cheryl.

Lord Blackmont appeared in season four of Game of Thrones and is the leader of one of the houses in Dorne.

Daniel played a character called Howard in one episode of Hollyoaks in 2012.

Karl Davies

Alton Lannister was a knight who was part of the Lannister family, and he was used to deliver peace terms from Robb Stark to King’s Landing.

He was later killed by his cousin Jaime Lannister, who used his death to try to escape from the cell he was put in by Robb Stark’s army.

Karl played Robert Sugden from 2001 until 2005 and returned again for a brief appearance in 2009, and the role has also been played by three other actors since he was first introduced in 1986.

He is the son of Jack and Pat Sugden, and the father of Sebastian White and husband of Aaron Dingle.

Margaret John

Old Nan has appeared in four episode of Game of Thrones – two episodes in season one as an elderly woman and two episodes in season six in a vision of Bran showing when she was young.

Margaret portrayed the older version of the character during the first season, and she used to tell stories of the White Walkers.

In April 1979 she joined Emmerdale as Maggie Fletcher, the wife of Phil and mother of Terry Fletcher, but she then left the soap after just six episodes.

Reece Noi

Mossador was a former slave in Meereen who appeared in season four and five of Game of Thrones.

He was later executed after killing captives of the Sons of the Harpy.

Reece played Ryan Hayworth in Emmerdale for a few episodes in 2007 and 2008.
