Game of Thrones fans know no bounds. From a 3D-printed life-sized model of Tyrion Lannister to the castles of Westeros recreated in intricate detail in Minecraft, they’re always finding new ways to express themselves. Take Chris, who has a YouTube channel dedicated to his love of woodcraftingAmong Chris’ many creations are a trio of Game of Thrones-themed carvings that are, in a word, awesome. Check out the video of Chris carving the Stark direwolf sigil into a tree trunk below:

To get the time lapse effect, Chris stops to take a picture after every inch or so of work. All in all, he estimates that he took around 3,000 photos for the Stark carving.

But there’s more than one Great House in Westeros, and more than one block of wood in the forest:

We’re not sure what’s more mesmerizing: the process of creating this Targaryen sigil or the final product. We do know we wouldn’t want to be Chris’ video editor.

Naturally, Chris ends his carve-a-thon with the Lannister lion:

This might be my favorite, Seven forgive me.

You can watch a more detailed look at Chris’ methods in the video below.

Chris also makes his own bow and arrows, axes, and various pieces of furniture. Unfortunately, his Game of Thrones work is not offered for sale at this time, although he’s hoping to make some pieces available for a charity event. Let us know which one and we’ll be there.
