It has been a roller-coaster ride for the fans and makers of Game Of Thrones post episode 3. The anachronism that happened in the last episode, the great Starbucks coffee cup fiasco, escalated to such a level, that HBO had to explain themselves for it.
Earlier, Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth had quipped on Conan O’Brien’s talk show,“These things happen, it’s a big job, people run in, and Emilia (Clarke) probably drinks too much coffee.” And now Sophie Turner who plays Sansa Stark has also spilled some (coffee) beans.
In the show, Sansa and Daenerys are mostly seen at loggerheads owing to different priorities, birthplaces and house ethos. They don’t seem to trust each other. Taking this into account, fans were quick to pick up Sansa’s picture with Lyanna Mormont (actress Bella Ramsey), where she holds a similar cup, pinning the blame on her.

On Jimmy Fallon show, her husband Joe Jonas also asked her the same question. The conversation that ensued was as follows:
“Alright, Detective Pikachu,” she told Fallon after he played Joe’s video. “This girl dies in episode…. in one of the episodes,” she said about Lyanna.
“And this is a scene from the episode after she dies!” Sophie then spoke about the scene where everyone was enjoying the victory of the Battle of Winterfell in which the coffee cup was spotted. “So why am I holding this coffee cup that’s in a different scene? We all have the same cups for all of our water and tea and everything, so I’m going to just go with — I mean, look who it’s placed in front of,” she said, pointing toward Emilia Clarke.
“Emilia Clarke, she’s the culprit!” Turner announced.
On asking whether cast members also sent messages to each other about the coffee cup, Sophie said that Nikolaj did message.
“There was just one text and it was from Nikolaj [Coster-Waldau] who plays Jaime Lannister and he just wrote, ‘Great episode. Was that a coffee cup?’”
While the audience roared in laughter on Sophie’s sporting answers, the internet was replete with memes about the whole issue and we are laughing our hearts out too. Watch the video below:
