Recently, DC Comics revealed that the Joker is actually THREE different people. It was a HUGE deal for the comics, but the question I have is whether that can also apply to the movies… And now, with the release of Suicide Squad, how does Jared Leto’s Joker fit in to the mix? As the fourth live action Joker, is Suicide Squad’s Joker a brand new entity or is he simply the continuation of one of the past Jokers we’ve seen before? Today on Film Theory, I’m tackling one of comic’s age old questions ‘who is THE JOKER?

I keep seeing comments like "Heath Ledger is dead" and I will now ask if he is really dead, or the fred kind of dead.
I know that they seem to take place in different time periods, but what if all the joker's were different because he was how different police described him. It kind of makes sense because they all have similar outfits and styles of crime but they could all just be different based on the police sketches people made

Heath ledgers joker was the best and actually portrayed what I believe the joker was originally meant to be, a mentally unhinged, demented, deranged, sociopathic killer, and it is just the best and I love everything about Heath ledgers joker, rest in peace Heath ledger, I'll be sure to show kids your wonderful portrayal of the Joker
If you kept the Bronze Age and Modern Separate then all the live action Jokers could have worked-
Golden Age (Gangster)- Jake N.
Silver Age (Prankster)- Cesar R.
Bronze Age (Anarchist)- Heath L.
Modern Age (Psychopath)- Jared L.

When I was five I watched the silver age joker movie. Not a bad movie, but not as gory golden age sadly. It was my dad’s decision to watch it but I didn’t hate it even when was five. When I was five I hated comic books with a passion.
