BETTER CALL SAUL is one of my favorite shows on TV right now. However, there is one key character component that has always bothered me: Chuck’s supposed Allergy to Electricity. I mean, he’s gotta be Faking it right? Electromagnetic fields aren’t something you can be allergic to! Well it turns out that’s not entirely true, but that still doesn’t mean Chuck’s not faking. In this episode, I Reveal the TRUTH behind Chuck’s alleged illness!

  1. Hey Friends,
Just FYI: This episode was done a few weeks BEFORE the "Saul" episode airing this past Monday…the episode that makes all of this pretty obvious. It was kinda a BUMMER, to be honest. But hey, they still don't give a FULL scientific explanation of everything, so now you know the actual science behind it all!

  2. Here's the thing: How'd he supposedly known that he was allergic to electricity? I would say it CAN be a phobia I suppose but of course it could have been something that happened when he was younger that he ended up thinking he was allergic to it. I don't like going outside because to me it felt like I was allergic to grass (granted I was a kid) each time I went to a soccer game or played out side I was itching and so my hatred for grass grew however I was not allergic to it, at all. I took a test to see what I was allergic to – pineapples and dust mites – granted I wasn't highly allergic to them (I LOVED pineapples then so I was saddened by that fact) and after that I guess I never really thought of anything from grass after that, it wasn't even itchy, though when that first started to happen I believe I heard something about my dad being an allergy to grass or another plant (though I was young and tended to hear things wrong) then soon after that I started feeling itchy and felt I was getting rashes from it and wanted to stop playing around out side because the grass agitated me. Granted I don't go outside NOW but thats because I'm lazy. Actually what MatPat said about the pill (thats fake) is supposedly having side effect and people feeling it, it reminded me of a manga I read and a supposed study I've found. The manga was about a man who took payment from people who wanted someone to die, this man killed those people by telling them things like "I put poison in your drink" and very convincing situations to make the victims think "I'm going to die" and well they die. A study supposedly from the manga that I also believe I've heard of BEFORE I read it was an experiment: a group of scientist had a volunteer sit down on a chair and had something to block the volunteer's vision from shoulder down. A man came up to him with a fake knife and said something on the lines of "I'm going to kill you" or "I'll cut you" and put the knife on the volunteer's wrist and pretended to slit the volunteer's wrist and had used fake blood to make it seem that he was bleeding, bleeding TOO much, thus the volunteer thought he would be dying of blood lost however s/he died of a heart attack.

  3. Huh, I don't think it's ever occurred to me that Chuck was "faking it". It seemed like pretty clear mental illness from the get go. Maybe I came to that conclusion from knowing similar people in my life though.

  4. I usually don't quit series after 1 episode but in Saul's case i did but it was because of one scene. Now that I think back about it, I do think it's stupid to stop because of that. That's why I am now asking you guys if I should continue watching from S01E02 and finish the entire series?

  5. I love better call saul! I actually met a lady awhile back who claimed her husband was allergic to electricity and he couldn't leave the house. They even lived without electricity. All I could think of was the brother in this show and how the poor husband obviously had a severe psychological condition. I have a feeling the lady wouldn't appreciate my analysis of her husband so I kept quiet lol.

  6. This title is pretty misleading. Chuck isn't lying, he's just mistaken in believing it's an allergic reaction when in fact it's just a psychosomatic condition. If he was faking it though, that would be interesting.

  7. this is stupid. you milked out a whole script on something that was resolved in a couple minutes the first season. stop making videos for 7 year olds and treat your audience like they have competence.
