The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers cut ties with WGA
The beginning of May has been a particularly tumultuous one for the film industry, when The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers ended contract talks with the Writers Guild of America on Monday night, hours before the contract expiration deadline. The WGA responded by calling for a strike to begin on Tuesday.
Effects of the Writer’s Strike
Under the rules of the strike, the members of WGA have stopped their work on all projects that fall under the union’s jurisdiction. The production of a number of films and TV shows might be affected in the coming days and might even come to a halt following the strike.
The scripts of House of The Dragon Season 2 are already complete
According to a report by Variety, the filming for House of The Dragon Season 2 has been unaffected by the strike. The scripts have been completed for some time now, and shooting is currently underway at Leavesden Studios.
