A razor most heinous and dishonorable is forged from traditional, layered, pattern welded damascus by hand. The steels used are 15n20 and 1095. The geometry on this razor is a little more “face friendly” than my last two razors. So it’s off to the hairy area around my brother’s pie hole to see whether the razor known as “Revenge Of Son Of Kung Fu Treachery” shaves or just permanently alters his countenance!

07:56 I should say “tool rest” instead of “platen”

Yes, my accent does sound like the priest from Princes Bride. I did my best!

  1. I still shave with a straight edge it's a lost art nowadays. If you know what your doing it's just as quick and plenty cheaper than store bought, after initial purchase that is considering a good razor will run you at least 50 dollars. Not one of those safety razor insert things either cheaters. Looks great hope it works just as well.

  2. Was not a total fan of the handle at first glance but the result is breathtaking. Everything is perfect and that gives the razor a unique personnality. I would definitely cherish that kind of blade for décades.
The final color of the whole razor is exceptionnal. Such a deep grey gives it boldness and power, all the more with the contrast the damascus offers. You never fail to surprise me!

  3. I live in Jenks, and I have made a few knives with the stock removal meathod, but I want to start forging. Any recommendations on places to get equipment (I am starting from scratch), or places to learn more about smithing, classes, etc.???

  4. Lay-person here, would it be a bad idea to put flux between the steel before forge welding? Or perhaps "build" the layers as you go by forge welding each layer one by one? I realize this would fatigue the initial pieces of steel that you would "build" on. Thanks!

  5. Awesome work, as usual.  For your brother's sake, I hope you can get some higher grit stones. I wet shave and you need to get to at least 8k, if not higher, for a comfortable shave, and then strop on hanging leather gently.  Sharpening is a rabbit hole of its own.  Anyway, I'm totally impressed with your fire welding.  I haven't had much success with that yet, so it's nice to see it work!

  6. Love the videos green beetle keep them up!!!! beautiful razor. I also just became a patron I’m glad I can help you do something you love and I can keep watching. I can’t wait till you make another knife that you will be selling on eBay I would love to own one.
