  1. how well does it pay to be a blacksmith and what do you do in that field as well im trying to find a trade i like for after high school but dont know if i want to do welding, carpentry, pipe fitting or some other option. would really help to get some info from someone who already is in the field and knows what they're talking about.

  2. Amazing work as always Freerk, new subscriber here but I have been following your work for some time.

I have question though. When you forge a blade, are you following some dimensions or are you just doing it till you "feel" it is the size you desired? Do you measure during the forging so you know you are not making it too big or small?
I am doing stock removal so for me its easy as I cut off what I don't want and I have constantly inscribed design on the blank but I always wondered how is that done in forging.

  3. I was watching the History channel once and they showed a skeleton of a Viking who had a severe blow from a large sword on top of the shoulder where it split the ball of the shoulder joint and it looked like it would be extremely painful. They did note that the wound was probably fatal.
