"I can't even remember what she looked like." There's layers to Robert's quote about Lyanna.
Characters like Aemon speak on their past loves or family, claiming he can remember every small detail about their features.
This is not the case for Robert, I feel like that's supposed to represent how his love was unhealthy and even obsessive. He loved his own imagined version of Lyanna, but not who she truly was. He put her on a pedestal, so to speak. This is why he couldn't fathom her running away with Rhaegar, so he is convinced it was rape.
