I hate that stannis died so I think of shireen.
Arguably the greatest strategist in Westeros decides to stand in an open field with no bloody pikes while attacking the Boltons who are known to have a large cavalry. Poor writing D&D. Book Stannis had a hell of a plan.
Stannis did help somewhat by depleting the Bolton forces a bit if they had been at full strength the Botb may have turned out different
Was waiting to see Stannis save Deepwood Motte, rally the Clans, the night fire and lakes…the development with the Iron Bank and manderly…instead got this cop out. Damned show writers, didn't even read the books.
Only thing made bearable was Stephen Dillane's performance.
The darkness will devour them all unless I triumph.
imagine if they done this battle like the battle of bastards .. poor baratheons
go do your duty those r your last words come on you can do better then that
I like the attention to detail — you can see defectors fleeing at rearguard (1:23).
brienne can go fuck herself. she is such a fucking douche bag. how could renly possibly ever be the rightful king. we get it he danced with you awww. I hope lady stoneheart slits your throat.
why is this episode called "mother's mercy", maybe cuz brienne didn't kill him at the end? i can't belive such honorable person would kill lying unarmed and wounded man.
Rightful King? Fuck off with that shit. Renly was a pretender. Your about to kill the one true king!!
FOUR things that I think lead to Stannis downfall here in season 5.
1. His army was not equip for Winter Warfare against the Boltons, even if Stannis had a bigger army. The Boltons had a back yard home advantage and they know their land very well.
2. Stannis failed to head Ser Devos advice.
3. Burning his daughter, caused a total morale drop, ILL OMEN AS WELL, for half of his WHOLE Army. And lead to half of them leaving him and they took the horses with them as well. Oh yeah, wife dead too.
4. Never trust a Woman dress in Red. Even if she promised you victory. And on the final day of you sallying forth. She leaves you high and dry. Only to let you meet your end at the hands of your enemies.
Sad, but it was Stannis fault.
This is the bad assets to draw a sword ..
Good riddance Stannis. He was such a shitty & forgettable character that most of his scenes (with a few acceptions that is) felt like boring filler through out the whole series. Also Stannis killing his own daughter was the moment I immediately lost all respect for him.
Fucken D&D shortened this scene so we can see a cheap CGI of Cersei walking along Kings landing…'shame, 'shame', it should be 'waste', 'waste'. If only we saw the battle!
This old guy and his bad news… Just go away, Go!
Know it makes no sense to compare series vs books, but the series horribly destroyed Stannis. He's not my favorite character, but I think he's the one entitled to the throne. Without saying much, in the book Stannis hasn't even faced off vs. Bolton army, he never burns his daughter (actually states she's the heir to the 7 kingdoms in case he dies), and is actually making a careful approach towards Winterfell. Even if he's defeated in the books as well, he'll never look as cruel or dumb as he looked in the series. Really, why???
They could not have made this scene any more epic.
To be honest I honestly would of died of laughter if they had like one horseman like 25m from the formation (Ramsay) charging and gets hit a by a arrow before he gets close lol Dumb & Dumber could of did that much for us!
Renly was no King, he was a FAG
You know the show is fucked up when they play heroic music for the Boltons.
He didn't even say a word and yet his army followed him to the face of death with no fear at all … All hail the one and only King.
Brienne: There are no less men in the Seven Kingdoms I hate more than Stannis Baratheon:
Me: Fewer
He is not death i think.
1:16 can anyone tell me the song ?
This makes me hate Ramsay so badly:

House Baratheon is gone. And it's because of Robert and Renly.
seems like he didn't die. Why wouldn't they show the death, i mean it's common to see every characters death brutal and bloody, but this, could this mean that Brienne couldn't finish the job? I hope Stannis is still alive, cause he is a major character that needs more screen time and story, the guy is so interesting right now, that it feels like a waste for him to die. Plus he should die a bit more extreme from my point of view. IM CALLING IT!! STANNIS IS ALIVE!!!!! JON SNOW WILL RETURN!!! VALAR MORGHULIS!!!
he died like a true warrior , leading his army with sword in hand fighting despite being outnumbered by the boltons
1:13 Stannis realizes he has lost.
1:17 Screw it let's die with honor
Were those Partly Soldiers from the Vale? Thanks to P. Baelish
at 1:23 you can see about one fourth of Stannis men run away from the battle
How did it finish in the forest? The battle was in the plains, wasn't it?
So much for Sansa and her candle, then. Nice going, Brienne, you oathbreaker.
In the name of Renley of house Baratheon, first of his name, rightfull King of the Andels and the first men and protector of the Realm. I Brienne of Tharth sentence u to die!
what does he say after "trench here"? i cant quite catch it.
3:14 ''Is that a woman?''
Such a badass scene when he draws his sword knowing he was fucked but he continued to walk towards his goal
Stannis may have been in the wrong when he murdered Renly but so was Renly in declaring himself king.
Stannis is brave and Brienne is a fool, she kills a wounded man and urges revenge for Renly that was gay and loved men, Renly never loved Brienne
"Go on, do your duty" – Stannis. Only a man with honor would say those words, and only a man with honor who leads with experience could kill two soldiers after having his leg broken and his army defeated. Truly, Stannis is the rightful king of Westeros.
The way Stannis stands tall and proud as he unsheathes that sword was truly a beautiful moment. The entrance of the Baratheon of Dragonstone theme is compelling also.
This is the end. A shit end but with last one epic Stannis and House Baratheon moment… 1:16 – 1:22
