It’s not surprising that with its immense popularity Game of Thrones has garnered a lot of tribute videos online. Some of the most fun among those fan-made clips are the music video mash-ups. Whether they’re parodies of songs with the lyrics altered to fit the show’s narrative or popular songs with actual lines from the show dubbed in to replace the original vocals, all are worthy of a singalong at a Westeros ale house on a Saturday night.
Check out a few of the best below.
1. “Look What You Made Me Do”
It wouldn’t be Westeros without characters (cough Cersei cough) pointing the finger at others for their transgressions, and what better song to dub over with lines from the GoT heroes and villains than Taylor Swift’s accusatory “Look What You Made Me Do”? It’s particularly fitting that both Swift’s persona in the song and Arya have a lot in common, including lists of the people they wish to kill put in their place.
2. “I Will Survive”
Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” is a bold choice for a music video mashup from the cast of a show where literally no ones survives. Still, it makes for fun viewing. Enjoy the dance slap break at 1:23. Anyone else forget how much they wished Robb Stark had, indeed, survived?
3. “Ice Ice Baby”
Could there be a more fitting song for a show that featured an enormous wall of ice? Lady Olenna kinda rapping might be the best thing to happen since Dany and Jon consummated their incestuous love, um, wait…
4. “Let It Go”
What do you get when you cross two insanely popular on-screen ventures? A Game Of Thrones rendition of Frozen‘s “Let It Go,” apparently. Guess the cold never bothered Jon Snow, anyway.
5. “Titanium” “Roar,” “Monster,” and “Demons” medley
The first part of this video, a rendition of Sia’s “Titanium,” pretty much could’ve been Dany’s theme song this past season. Just check out these lyrics: “Fire proof with dragons loose/ Set ablaze my enemies.” Watch the Lannisters take on Katy Perry’s “Roar” (fitting) and a wig-wearing, rapping Jon.
6. “Payphone”
We can all probably relate to this take on Maroon 5’s “Payphone” that details the struggle of being obsessed with the show when your friends aren’t and trying to cope in the GoT-less time between seasons. Maybe just watch this video on repeat?
7. “Somebody That I Used to Know”
This one works as a handy recap of who’s died in earlier seasons (spoiler: a LOT). They even tease author George R. R. Martin for letting so many fan favorites go.
