Charles Dance, who played the iconic Tywin Lannister in HBO’s smash hit show Game of Thrones, has been signed for the third season of Netflix’s royal drama The Crown, informed Digital Spy.

Although it’s not been confirmed what role Dance will be playing in the series, it’s been rumoured that he will step into the shoes of Prince Charles’ great-uncle Lord Louis Mountbatten. The actor is likely to feature in important storylines as the third instalment will focus on Prince Charles’ career with the Royal Navy as well as his romantic life, with Camilla Shand.

In an image that has been heavily circulated in the internet, Dance is seen in a regal suit and tie, with a black overcoat on top.

Netflix had earlier released the first looks of Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret and Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II. It was also reported that British actor Josh O’Conner will play Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son Prince Charles while Marion Bailey will play The Queen Mother in the third and fourth seasons of the show.

The third season of The Crown is slated to release in 2019.
