Lena Headey, the actress starring as Cersei Lannister in “Game of Thrones”, will be taking up a major role in an Israeli horror movie by acclaimed Israeli directors Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado.

The two directors also wrote the screenplay for “Gunpowder Milkshake,” together with screenwriter and comics artist Ehud Lavski. The shooting of the movie is slated to begin in Berlin in a few months time.

Headey is the second actress to officially join the cast after Karen Gillan did last month. Gillan previously starred in “Avengers: Infinity War” and in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

American “Picture Company,” which produces the movie, recently produced “The Traveler” starring Liam Neeson.

Back in 2010, “Rabies” by Keshales and Papushado received a very warm welcome by critics and was credited with initiating the horror genre in Israel.  About three years later, their “Big Bad Wolves” enjoyed relative success abroad winning international awards and gaining momentum after Quentin Tarantino dubbed it “the best film of the year.”
