Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey revealed she’s interested in playing Deadpool.
Actress Lena Headey has appeared in several film and television projects, but she is arguably best known for her role as the cunning and ruthless Cersei Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Now, Lena Headey has revealed that she’s interested in taking on the role of the Merc with a Mouth, telling Geek House Show, “well, I’d love to play Deadpool. Obvs. Anyway, that’s been taken.”
Despite the fact that Ryan Reynolds still attached to the role of Deadpool, the comics still offer at least one way the Game of Thrones alum can play a version of the character. In the comics, one of the versions of the character from an alternate dimension is Lady Deadpool, the alter-ego Wanda Wilson. In the Deadpool Corps comic book series, both versions of Deadpool team up with other incarnation from across the multiverse, which means Lena Headey taking on the role is not outside the realm of possibility.

Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that he is working on a Deadpool sequel with Marvel Studios. However, there has been no official word on where the third Deadpool film might fit into Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 or 5 plans. In the meantime, fans can re-watch Ryan Reynolds’ most recent appearance as the Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool 2.
