It probably won’t shock you to hear that people spent a lot of time in 2020 talking about movies, TV shows and video games online. We were stuck at home for months; what else was there to do?
Data released by Reddit shows that activity was up compared to 2019. But exactly shows, movies and games were people talking about? Instead of releasing a list of most-discussed-TV shows like usual, this year Reddit broke it down by genre. Take a look:

- Reality TV: Big Brother, 90 Day Fiancé, The Bachelor, Survivor, RuPaul’s Drag Race
- Comedy: The Office, Rick and Morty, Community, BoJack Horseman, The Simpsons
- Drama: The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Better Call Saul, Grey’s Anatomy, Breaking Bad
- Anime: One Piece, My Hero Academia, Naruto, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Boruto
- Sci-fi: Star Trek, Westworld, Doctor Who, The 100, Dark
It’s impressive that legacy shows like The Office and The Sopranos still get talked about a lot even though they’ve been over for years. Likewise, Game of Thrones generated a lot of chatted even though it ended in 2019.
