Despite Game of Thrones and Friends being two massively popular series, they have been beaten as the most watched show on new US streaming service HBO Max.

Game of Thrones is the biggest series to ever come out of HBO itself while Friends is one of the most popular US sitcoms of all time and regular sits as one of the most streamed shows on numerous streaming services.

However, they have now been toppled by…Looney Tunes.

That’s right, the classic cartoon franchise has won the day with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck proving more beloved than the likes of Arya Stark and Ross Geller.

According to Bloomberg, Parrot Analytics found that Looney Tunes Cartoons brought in 19.4 times the demand of the average show in the first four days of the new streaming service.

This was more than Apple TV series See (16.5) and Quibi show Chrissy’s Court (3.4) for the debuts of those streaming service debuts.

The next most watched HBO Max shows were romantic comedy series Love Life, which stars A Simple Favour actress Anna Kendrick.

This was followed by The Not-Too-Late Show With Elmo, a series akin to late night chat show but with Sesame Street favourite Elmo.

Bugs Bunny wins the day on HBO Max

Looney Tunes takes the crown of the most-watched HBO Max offering, however, it is beaten by a show on fellow new streaming service Disney+.

Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian was watched 46.1 times more than the average show in its first four days of debut, showing it to be a massively successful launch for the Mickey Mouse company’s streaming service.

It does seem to be that HBO have big plans for its Max service, however.

Netflix – Best series to binge-watch

The US cable network , which airs its series on Sky in the UK, already has 40 million subscribers that it hopes to convert to HBO Max customers.
