Girls star Lena Dunham has reeled in Bella Ramsey, Andrew Scott and Billie Piper for her next movie Catherine, Called Birdy, which begins shooting in April.
The casting news was first reported by journalist Baz Bamigboye, who revealed on Twitter that Game of Thrones breakout star Ramsey (who memorably played the no-nonsense Lyanna Mormont) has signed on for the lead role in Dunham’s medieval comedy project.
Meanwhile, Sherlock star Andrew Scott and Doctor Who‘s Billie Piper join the project as Birdy’s parents.

Deadline reports that this is a passion project for writer/director Dunham, who’s adapting Karen Cushman’s 1994 children’s novel of the same name.
Catherine, Called Birdy follows the trials and tribulations of a teenage girl in medieval England as she navigates through life and tries to avoid the various arranged marriages that are mapped out for her.
The movie is set to shoot at locations in Shropshire, Wales and Gloucester.

Elsewhere on Scott’s agenda, it was confirmed back in November that the Irish actor will appear in HBO’s original flick Oslo, which is based on the real-life story of negotiations between Palestinians, Israelis and a Norwegian couple, which led to the Oslo Peace Accords.
Scott’s His Dark Materials co-star Ruth Wilson is also part of the production, as is Salim Dau, Waleed Zuaiter, Jeff Wilbusch, Igal Naor, Dov Glickman, Rotem Keinan, Itzik Cohen, Tobias Zilliacus and Sasson Gabai.
Oslo will air on HBO and stream on HBO Max in 2021. His Dark Materials airs on BBC One in the UK, and on HBO in the US.
