Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark is not a role model for girls, she’s a ‘serial killer’

Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham has admitted that he’s quite perturbed when people cite Maisie Williams’ character Arya Stark as a role model.

The British actor claims that he has to stop people and explain exactly why it’s weird.

Speaking in a Rolling Stone Fan Exploder Theory video, Cunningham said: ‘Let me throw something out here people. There’s a lot of young ladies I speak to and I go, “what do you think of the ladies”’ they go ‘oh Arya, Maisie Williams character, she’s such a great role model.

‘And I go, okay let me stop you there. She’s a serial killer. And a lot of young ladies are using her as a role model…in five, 10 years time, let’s not examine where that might go.’

He’s got a point about her being a serial killer that’s for sure.

In the last season she slayed the Frey family who murdered her brother and mother at the Red Wedding. She was Littlefinger’s executioner. It currently stands that Arya’s kill count is 64.

While Kit Harington and other stars have been crying over the end of Game of Thrones after having been given the script, Cunningham has claimed that show bosses haven’t entrusted him with it.

‘Okay, here’s the real deal on this puppy. As we speak, at this moment in time, the bastards at HBO have not sent me the scripts for the final season. They promised me the scripts this week, but they haven’t sent them,’ he said.
