George R.R. Martin is in a funk. A Gang Green, history-of-the-butt-fumble funk over his New York Jets.

Granted, this happens every year about this time, but he’s especially bilious now, writing on his blog: “Life for a Jets fan is an unending torment.”

Hey, they’re 3-4! But Martin, author of “A Song of Ice and Fire” upon which the HBO series “Game of Thrones” is based, is nothing if not tortured by this team, especially after the Jets blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead and lost Sunday to the Dolphins.

“Last week the refs gave the Pats a win over Gang Green with a bull— reversal of a touchdown, one of the worst calls in the history of the NFL,” he continued, under the headline “Pfui.” “This week the Jets did it to themselves, blowing a two-touchdown lead in the fourth quarter to lose to the Fins. Total choke job.”

Ordinarily, Martin could turn to his other NFL love, but that isn’t exactly working out either. “Big Blue could very well finish 4-12 as well,” he wrote in a Sept. 24 post that seems rosily optimistic about the now 1-6 Giants. “After trailing 14-0 and looking lifeless, they came roaring back to take the lead, but could not hold it. When the defense plays great, the offense does nothing. When the offense comes alive, the defense fails. And really Odell [Beckham Jr.], the catches were great, but what the hell was with that first ‘celebration?’ Stupid.

“No, not a good Sunday in football land. A gut-wrenching loss, and a win that will hurt more than it helps. This looks like a looooooooooooooooooooooong season.”

At least he can’t say he was caught off-guard.

“I have the feeling that I am going to be starting a lot of blog posts with “Life is miserable and full of pain” this fall, at least where the Jets are concerned,” he wrote on Sept. 1. “All I can hope is that the Giants come through for me. If Eli [Manning] and the offense and rise to the level of the D, Big Blue should kick some ass.”

Good luck with that. Winter is here for all of us, and Martin hasn’t exactly helped anyone by failing to complete the alleged next book in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.

At least, thanks to Kit Harington, we know a little bit about how the final season of “Game of Thrones” will go. The show’s creators are finishing up the series, with its final season mapped out. “I cried at the end,” Harington said after the cast’s recent table read. “You have to remember that eight years of it, no one really cares about it more than us. It’s been an institution longer than any other institution I’ve been in. School, drama school, anything. I get a bit weepy thinking about it. It’s going to be a strange year saying goodbye to everyone and having last scenes with this person and that person. Not only you’re attached to it, loads of people around the world are attached to it.”

Kind of like the Jets. And the Giants.
