The Hound is actually a fiercely loyal person when it comes to obeying king's orders. He liked Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark. He really respected these kings. You could see it by the way he treated Sansa and Arya. But he slowly started to lose faith after their deaths and the crowning of Joffrey.

Hound with Sansa and Arya is pure gold …… more depts to the character…. the final should be hound vs. the mountain. hound kills the mountain and dies on his wounds minutes later … or Mountain kills the hound and arya kills the mountain …

As well as being a brutal killing machine, The Hound has fantastic paternal instincts. Doesn't get much more badass than that. He's like a medieval Mike Ehrmantraut
