**Warning several Game of Thrones spoilers below**
Alfie Allen’s Theon Greyjoy had one of the most redemptive character arcs on Game of Thrones, going from an arrogant and callus wannabe-tyrant, to being tortured to the point of insanity to eventually becoming a hero.
In the midst of the season eight madness, criticism and disappointment fans didn’t even stop to think about the since killed Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon).
Of course, Theon would have known he had been defeated, but did he know he was mauled to death by his own vicious hounds?
One good thing about season eight was Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Theon’s reunion.
The moment was so raw and visceral, as they both know how the other suffered at the hands of the cruel and sadistic Ramsay.
Fans will remember Ramsay brutally tortured Theon, who he called Reek, for the best part of three seasons.
And Sansa’s terrifying marriage to him was heavily criticised for being unnecessarily included in the series.
Fans have been discussing whether Theon knew how Ramsay died over on the Freefolk Reddit.
One fan joked: ‘Of course, he received a push notification for the update on the Battle of the Bastards.
This is a consistent explanation with the many news events which were never mentioned to the characters who were not present in person.’
While another added: ‘I’m pretty sure in the books Ramsay is gonna die when he tries to turn his dogs on Theon.
‘Theon was my favourite character him not getting to laugh at Ramsey or knowing how he died is such a wasted opportunity… Like most of season eight.’
Game of Thrones season 8 is available on NOW TV.
