Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss are returning for another TV project, but in a very unexpected way.
Benioff and Weiss have teamed up again, but this time they’re directing a Netflix stand-up comedy show starring Ghostbusters actress and Saturday Night Live favourite Leslie Jones.
Named Leslie Jones: Time Machine, the comedy series will see Leslie taking over as ‘Netflix’s Mother of Dragons’, which premieres internationally on January 14, 2020.

The official description for Leslie Jones: Time Machine reads: “Comedian, actress and Emmy Award-nominated SNL alum, Leslie Jones, is all about having fun. Through the years that fun has encompassed wild times, crazy experiences, celebrity encounters and a few awkward mishaps.
“Now older, and enlightened, the comedian imparts her hilarious wisdom on all ages. Strap in, because you’re headed on a wild side-splitting ride from young adulthood to the present with Leslie Jones.”
In other Benioff and Weiss-related news, the pair are said to be working on a monster-themed movie based on the novel Lovecraft by horror fiction writer HP Lovecraft.
Leslie Jones: Time Machine premieres on Netflix on January 14, 2020. Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are now available on DVD and Blu-ray.
