Game Of Thrones’ John Bradley is set to play iconic comedian Les Dawson in the upcoming fourth series of Sky’s Urban Myths alongside fellow Thrones star Mark Addy.

John, who played Samwell Tarly in the epic saga, has been cast in the first episode of Urban Myths, titled Les Dawon’s Parisienne Adventure, with the Robert Baratheon actor and Inside No. 9 writer Steve Pemberton and – and we can’t wait.

The episode tells the story of the well-loved stand-up comedian’s adventures in Paris in the mid-1950s.

Inspired by his heroes – the writers Jean Paul Sartre and Albert Camus – a young Les Dawson (played by Bradley) left his home in Manchester to live in Paris in order to pursue his dream of becoming a serious novelist.

Unfortunately, things didn’t quite work out as he planned, and he ended up becoming a pianist in a brothel.

Quite a far cry from Westeros, huh?

Game Of Thrones ended after an eight-year reign last year, with many demanding a remake.

Back in December, John revealed that fantasy series left him with ‘performance anxiety’ and caused a stammer when he was auditioning for new roles.

‘When I was in character I developed a stammer that I wasn’t in control of and it’s hard enough to be an actor anyway without having to read a script the night before you were going to do it and thinking that’s really going to trip me up tomorrow and the more you think about it the worse it gets,’ he said on The Blank Podcast.

‘Towards the end of that journey, that stammer would turn up in non-Sam acting and I’d do auditions when I’d stammer because it just seemed like the default place that I went to when I acted.’ He added: I think people thought it was part of me but it wasn’t, but it was performance anxiety.’

The new season of Urban Myths is made up of four parts, with episodes dedicated to Jimi Hendrix and George Frideric Handel, Barbara Streisand and Joan Rivers, and Orson Welles.

The cast boasts of a number of big names, including Bafta-winning actor Robbie Coltrane who plays Welles, and Katherine Ryan who is starring as Rivers.

Urban Myths series 4 will air on Sky Arts and NOW TV.
