That's the thing here in Germany. It doesn't matter if you're born here and have lived your whole life here in Germany. If you're parents are turkish, russian etc. you're not seen as a German..
But most of them don't see themselves as Germans either.

Well to be fair, she's one of the best German actresses I know – and that's coming from a German actually living in Germany. Let's just leave her past in the past and focus on what she accomplished, especially considering where she started out. Also, I can only recommend you watch "Die Fremde", where she plays the lead. She's brilliant!
