Season 1 Spoilers!
With the end of the first season, Westeros has a new rightful king and his name is Stannis Baratheon. Unfortunately, the rightful king of Westeros has a difficult journey ahead of him if he ever wants to sit on the Iron Throne. With Stannis’ significance to the series, it’s important that the producers cast someone who will be excellent as Stannis. Here are a few suggestions for them!

Jason Statham WOULD make a good Stannis! But I love the one they have now though
Stephen Dillane is the best Stannis there could be. All of these guys just don't have 'it'. The 'it' needed to be Stannis.
The first time I heard Justice by Rev Theory, I knew I had the perfect song for Stannis.
As if this song is made for Stannis Baratheon.
Excellent choice of music 😉
Being the "rightful" king is a bit of a nonsense if you haven't got a big enough army and a tonne of luck which is why old Stannis isn't on the Iron Throne at the moment 🙂
The Children of the Forest were in control of most of Westeros, when the Andals lead by Aegon (The Conquer) Targaryen whom possessed the dragons laid siege to what is now Westeros. Before Aegon Targaryen took control of Westeros (mainly because he could) there was no Iron Throne. The story "A Song of Ice and Fire" is the struggle for the Iron Throne or rather more to my point.. its hard to usurper something your family created.
@Evilshorns13 If you go back far enough the Targaryens themselves are usurpers
I love how people say that Stannis Baratheon is the rightful king of Westeros, when his brother Robert was an usurper? Some people get to caught up in this story and need to look back at what it was before Martin's first book starts. Aeys Targaryen was on the Iron Throne, Jamie killed him, right or wrong. Rhaegar was his heir, Robert killed him, now that made Viserys Targaryen the rightful heir, or did it?
@MrGeek91 UNBOWED,UNBENT,UNBROKEN Yours truly The Red Viper
@alexpascu2785 "Ours is the Fury"
I hate the Baratheons long live Hause Martel
i hate him, but he surely his one of the most powerful men in westeros…
He is a such a great character.
If not Tywin, then HE should rule the Realm.
By the way,
There is not enough words to describe how awesome could it be,
if Christopher Ecclestone would have been chosen as Stannis… Sigh…
Well, since the cast has already been declared,
let's just hope, Stephen Dillane will match our expectations from him.
Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride lol. He always reminds of the character in the books
I HATE STANNIS!!
KILL IT WHIT FIRE!!!
sean connery
Liam Nieson
I think the guy who played Haldir from lotr would make a good Reeghar Targaryean.
Mark strong. DO IT
Christopher Eccleston would have been a great choice (and rumor even had him getting the part) but Dillane is an excellent actor and will do well. I'm a huge James Purefoy fan but I don't see him as Stannis at all. Physical appearance aside, Stannis has NO charisma, while Purefoy is the opposite. He'd be better suited for the Red Viper of Dorne in S3.
Jason Isaacs would be better as Mance Rayder I think.
Other than Mark Strong those were all terrible choices, never mind the cost of getting those actors in to a TV show.
Hugo Weaving please! But Mark Strong is also a good idea.
Stephen Dillane!
@PerverseRapture Yeah, he'd be pretty awesome. He has the imposing presence for it. And he can glare the flesh from your bones.
i think Hugo Weaving might work too.
I would give my left nut to see Christopher Eccelston play Stannis Baratheon.
This song fits Stannis perfectly. The one to make a FMV of Stannis after release of the second season.
